I said in the video I had bought the Birkin pre loved or second hand, and I got a lot of questions about the process, how i decided how much i was willing to pay, how much it cost, how i bought from, if i checked reviews and authenticity, in this video i am going to talk through my process of buying the Birkin pre loved and give you my first impressions or review of the Birkin 25, my holy grail bag!

If I ever would own a birkin, I´d use it the same way. No twillies, no insert, but in togo leather and use it casually, as the bag was intended. Great job, gorgeous bag!!!!

I'm glad you got a " precise" ( leather, colour, size etc) Birkin you wanted on a pre-loved market site and that you did not play useless games with a Hermès sales associate ( BTW it must be the most stressful / psychopathic job in the fashion industry) to buy a Birkin that does not correspond to your aesthetic preferences in the end . Yes, you need the 7RP insert. They really are beautiful and soft and are the best fit these very expensive bags.

@@HunterDimaio Even if one loves the items the the total $ spent is the same. I am thinking dollars to dollars. It might be fun for the first bag but if one wants another bag then the cycle has to be repeated. Thus we see so many pieces on the resale mrkt

Yeah I think the resell price can work out cheaper overall, especially if you’re in an area where it can be 2:1 or even 3:1

Gorgeous bag! I have it in the 30 and it's fab. I have both the 7rp and Samorga, honestly, all you need is the Samorga in the 1.2mm felt for the 25. It will protect the interior but not take up much space. Also, the 25 keeps its shape well so that's not a concern. The Birkin is the best bag ever, Enjoy!!!!

Beautiful bag, congratulations! I have a B30 Togo with a 7RP insert and I do recommend it. I know the price hurts! I also use my bag and Costco/groceries included. I like the insert for the organization and protection it gives but most any insert would help with that. The reason I like 7Rp in particular is it fits like a glove and keeps the shape of the bag (my 30 is 2 years old and still has its same structure as when new). The insert is just firm enough yet very soft and lux feeling. It is water resistant and launders like a dream. Bottom line for me was this is the most expensive bag I own so any accessories are going to be commensurate. Its just one of the costs to owning this type of bag for me!

I completely agree that this is a casual day bag. That’s why I don’t understand when people try to force it to be a night bag. The Kelly Sellier may be can pass it as a night bag. The Birkin and Kelly’s are essentially tote/travel bags originally and meant to be used the way you are using them

So happy you love it. Yes I agree it’s more casual which I love. I don’t use a bag organiser. I know it would protect the bag but the bag loses its slouchiness with an organiser and I prefer it how it is. I bought 7rp for my Birkin 35 and I never use it. So it’s a no from me. I use a soft Hermes pouch in mine to use as a catch all and to protect inside of bag without changing the shape.

@@ameliarosescloset yep I decided to invest and it is beautiful quality but I don’t like how structured it makes the bag. I would send it to you to try but it’s for the b35. Maybe try a cheaper version first to see if you like the shape it gives before investing. I am same with neverfull , I have an organiser for that but it’s a slouchy zipped one as I prefer bag to look slouchy. Just my preference.
tbh the birkin is like a tote bag, so it can definitely be casual! glad u love her. get a samorga organiser? just to protect the inner lining

This is how I would have to do it as well. Cost is my only issue since Ive seen quite a few on the second hand market.
Finklepuff prices are usually good compared to other instagram shops, but I’d shop around for the best deal ;)

My SA was letting me play with a Birkin 25 today. It was in Beton which is a stunning colour. It was the first time I've seen one in person and I was shocked by how tiny it was, so much smaller in person than it appears on video or photos! Super cute though!

Great tips on the preloved journey. It’s my understanding that finklepuff is like an intermediary between a private person selling their bag and the buyers, how was that experience in so far as getting more photos or information on the bag? As for liners, I recommend them. Personally I like Samorga, and also White Fox for the linen ones. Just don’t store your bag with liners to avoid marks on leather. I like storing with a bag pillow 👍🏼

I brought just under a year ago, my birkin 35 on the resale market - and I was nervous at first to use it. Then I remembered how much she cost me and I was like okay I am getting my money's worth 🤣 safe to say she is one of my top 3 bags used! Just need to justify buying a B25 now.........😆

Love your video and I completely agree, bags we buy should be used. What on earth is the point of all that money if these bags just sit on a shelf. I do recommend an organizer but it’s mainly due to maintaining structure. I don’t mind a bit of wear but structure loss really drives me nuts.

Amelia I really recommend 7rp. I never thought I would buy an insert that expensive (for my diors, Chanels, Louis Vuitton’s and fendis I have samorga or Jenny Kraft which works well) but when I got offered my B30 I caved as it’s my most expensive bag and Hermes don’t spa the interior. I also worried about regular inserts leaving marks on the leather.
The quality and fit of 7rp is second to none. The material “gives” more than regular felt and I never worry about indentation on the leather x
i have read some reviews that other organisers can leave a line around the leather, i might have to give in too!
Def would have the same attitude using this bag if I have one. You are so right Amelia! It seems like most of the people that have Birkins or Kelly's put their bags on a pedestal and so scared and conscious using them, esp to the grocery store🤣. I used my lux bags to the grocery stores bec that's where I go often and I need to use my bags. That's why I bought them. I love looking at them but their main purpose is to be carried and used right? I feel like when I use them they serve their purpose. I really admire your outlook about lux.
Depends on where u live. You really dont wanna get robbed lol. Thats why i wont buy Birkins. Too recognizeable..

Cassie wanted gold hardware but accepted palladium, but yeah I think with a less popular colour you could get it easier, while rose poupre is very popular

Yeah Orange is the last color people want. Of course mini Kelly's are wonderful but most people don't use orange as a neutral. Cassie has the style for it and is not thinking about it as an investment. Most people want something that they can sell easier I'd they wish to.
I love your honesty, in my opinion it's better to have an orgenizer for the bag because it will keep the shape of it, the 7rp is expensive but Samorga also have orgenizers for the Birkin so I do recommend to check their prices as well
I have to ask, my dream bag is a Kelly 25 or 28 which cost between 15k to 30k in CAD, my husband always tell me do you think it's smart to leave the house with a bag that costs that much money? So my question to you is aren't you afraid that someone might still is from you in the street?

I think an organiser would be good to protect the structure and inside. I think you can get the outside of the bag repaired even if you brought it preloved, maybe from Samorga?

Absolutely, to an organizer! But 7rp...nah. Get a samorga. It will keep the inside from getting scratches and spills. It will also help the bottom from drooping over time. And the extra bit of organization can be useful when needed since I don't use the zipper compartment.

I wonder, if a bag is found to be a fake after we receive it, what can we do about it? It’s something that worries me and holding me back from buying from a reseller/consignment store.

Reseller prices are $20 000 Singapore which is similar to AUD but bags from the store are $15 000 ;)
I just got an organizer from Etsy ..the Hermes bag spa doesn’t repair the inside so I prefer to use an organizer.

If you don’t want to spend that 7rp price tag I can recommend maitai collection - their inserts are made in France (linen), cost around 90€ and don’t leave any lines on the leather 😍

Noooooo you do not need a 7RP insert but you should get a less expensive one to protect the interior from accidental spills. I use my Birkins just as you have described int his video so with all of those things inside, you need some organization and protect from accidents. Hermes will not spa the interior of your bag if there is a spill hun. I use Mai Tai inserts and LOVE them! I am so happy for you hun and yes 25 is sooooooooooooooo useable!!!! And surprisingly roomy too!

You are using the bag exactly as she's supposed to be used. Use her every day, enjoy her and the cost per wear drops like a stone! :-D Birkins are tote bags. You are smart to not be precious about it and yes they are very tough and meant to be used.

I dont want to sound like an alarmist here but…. Hermes is tightening up. Three factories are being built as we speak in France. They also have a crocodile farm in Australia where they source that particular skin. The refusal to offer a bag unless some spending limit has been surpassed, or the person is a celebrity, this will tighten up in the next decade. I wouldn’t be surprised if a contract was given to buyers with a ban on selling the bag on. Chanel is trying to fill Hermes’s big boots. They’ve upped their bag price to a ridiculously high rate couples with poor workmanship. Bags in Primark have straighter zips, better quality leathers, especially the softer skins. As the world spins into global recession, I doubt these bag companies with survive unless they are selling to the super rich, who want absolute originality. Would I like a Birkin, yes I would. It’s a gorgeous bag. Id like a very big one, in a neutral colour with palladium hardware. It’s not a Fendi purple sequin, I’d happily steal one and risk jail time for her! Hermes is trying to maintain its reputation as the boss of bosses. Staying true to its ethos of exclusivity, difficult to obtain, and very expensive. Be interesting to see how that levels out in ten years time.

I would definitely get an organiser but a cheaper one, hellocatwalkcity uses cheaper ones but is happy with them! Also helps to keep its value should you ever want to sell in the future x
