- After canceling our wedding plans (twice) and eloping in 2020, it was time for my husband and I to enjoy a second elopement - this time in our planned wedding location of Twin Lakes, CO with our actual wedding attire, vows, and rings! To start our grand Elopement 2.0 adventure, we drove from our home of Riverview, FL to Colorado Springs, CO. We passed through Atlanta, Nashville, St. Louis and Kansas City along the way. In Kansas City, we stopped for famous Kansas City BBQ at Joe's Kansas Bar-B-Que - one of Anthony Bourdain's "13 Places to Eat Before You Die."

So exciting! Can’t wait to see the rest of the trip! We have friends that live in Paducah. There is a little pizza shop there that has an amazing dessert pizza. It is a S’mores Pizza and I dream about that thing!
Paducah was so cute... at least from what we could see through the rain. Mmm... Smores Pizza? Sign me up!
Wow, that was a lot of rain! Did not envy Mike having to drive over that bridge either, man, that was scary! And that BBQ looked delicious, now I am hungry :)
We definitely went through it on the way through the South... and again on the way back (spoiler alert lol). That bridge was sooooo creepy - the river was so huge and the bridge was so small.
ROAD TRIIIIIPPPPPPPP yeah! :-) So nice to see a little bit of the States again. Thank you for taking us along :-)

Buc'ee's is on my list for our trip to Walt Disney World in August. Probably the Warner Robbins one since it is on the way and no detours are necessary, but St. Augustine or Daytona is a possibility. I've watched a lot of Braves games at Turner Field, but have yet to make it to Truist Park. Hopefully this year. Was it Ringgold you stopped it? A lot of the buildings along the interstate got hit hard by a tornado there a little over 10 years ago. Tell Mike there are about three White Castles in Nashville. :-) If you ever pass through Chattanooga again, we should grab a bite to eat.
Yesss you must do a Buc'ee's stop! It's an essential part of all roadtrips for us now. We drove by Truist too, but it was too hard to film from the road sadly. And yes - Ringgold! We saw so many White Castles in Missouri. I was like: WHY DID WE WAIT 2 HOURS?! lolol

Such bad great way kick off the adventure. I love pierogi so much so definitely vote those over white castle 😄 that buck-ees (sp?!) Was incredible, puts our services here in the uk to shame!
Oh for SURE. Pierogis are WAY better than White Castle! He ended up getting White Castle for breakfast the next day. LOL. Buc-ee's is ridiculous and amazing. Such an American experience!

Most of that drive is good, with the exception of Kansas. Kansas gets boring fast! And seriously - come on, Buc-ees!
Wow, that bridge made me nervous!!! I noticed you didn't really show Illinois and I can't blame you - it's pretty boring on the highways. Made me wonder, though - have you ever visited Chicago?
Right?! Wasn't the bridge wild?! Yeah, not much to see in that little piece of Illinois unfortunately. But yes! I've technically been twice - once as an infant, and once in 2004. I was actually in a long-distance relationship in high school with a guy who was from Hinsdale, just outside of Chicago (we met at the beach in FL one summer). I spent my first Spring Break of college visiting him and his family. He took me to the Shedd Aquarium and to see Blue Man Group, plus we of course enjoyed some Chicago Pizza!
Just now watching this vlog.You went to Joe’s KC and you didn’t get my favorites and I’m so sad for myself and for you. Haha! ;) I MISS THE Z MAN AND THE POTATO SALAD. (Picture me literally shedding a tear.)
We definitely contemplated getting the Z Man! I'm pretty shocked Mike didn't get the potato salad - he loves potato salad!

I'm seeing a double 🌳 pattern here. Did the troll have his White Castle? The Pacific Northwest is the most beautiful place I've seen but Colorado is a close second. Red rocks looks other worldly. Fun facts Colorado means red. The more you know 🌟
What can I say? My husband loves those free cookies! And technically yes - he went for breakfast the next morning and got some breakfast sliders! Pacific Northwest is definitely on our short list for future trips - can't wait to see it for ourselves.

It was definitely epic - and a blast!
Watching now will update more, but for now. 29 hours are you nuts! Road trips mean something else in the US.
When the trip was all said and done, we did 16 states in 16 days. 6000 miles in 16 days!
I hope you talked about Amatistas while Mike ate his White Castle foods.
