Steampunk incense holder - Porte encens steampunk industriel

Construit autour d’un détendeur de gaz de marque « Gurtner », ce porte encens se caractérise par son utilisation de man!ère verticale.
Pensant au départ que le détendeur était en laiton, j’ai eu la surprise de m’apercevoir qu’il est en réalité en aluminium recouvert d’une peinture or. Il a donc fallu le brosser entièrement et lui donner un aspect vieillit avec un brunissage suivi d’un polissage pour faire ressortir les reliefs.
Le socle quand à lui à été réalisé en chêne puis teinté et traité à l’huile de lin.

Built around a "Gurtner" gas regulator, this incense holder is characterized by its vertical use.
Thinking at first that the regulator was made of brass, I was surprised to find out that it was actually made of aluminum covered with a gold paint. I had to brush it completely and give it an aged look with a burnishing followed by a polishing to bring out the reliefs.
The base was made of oak and then stained and treated with linseed oil.

Enjoyed the video, EXCEPT for the jarring logo transitions. A simple cut, fade or slide would have improved the video greatly.

It is true that the transition is rather clear but I try to separate the different steps of the manufacturing process.
I will probably try another method later... why not !

Il tornio deve avere almeno 50 anni. È stato fatto a mano con il motore di una vecchia lavatrice.
Non funzionava da circa 10 anni e si è avviato senza problemi.

Bonjour, ce n'est pas une peinture mais un produit de brunissage des métaux. En gros ça provoque une couche d'oxydation sur le métal qui a pour but de le "teinter" et de le protéger.
