    I have to admit that I was bristling at the title and then pleasantly surprised by the content. I've seen so much hyperbolic criticism that it sometimes grates. Thanks for being a positive voice.
    Ships are the central core of my game play loop. From building them, to transporting cargo and passengers with them, to fighting pirates, I literally would have zero fun without ships.

      Sounds like you have a whole network up and running. I love them too. I cant stop watching design videos too. I hope they add new ship parts in future updates. I would love to see higher tier ships. It would even be cool to have lvl 100 planets that unlock unique ship parts. Fingers crossed. In the meantime, I will be building a fleet in this uni. Stay safe out there!

    Vasco is a good companion to keep around in the ship early game. He punches the shield a little bit. After, as you said, the others are better. But I prefer Vasco. I don't understand the idea of ships beign inutiles in the game. The very base of the game needs a ship. We can't do missions or take resources without one. It makes no sense at all. I think people are playing the wrong game or else. It surely need a good strategy to make money in the game. And I think people don't like to up skills all the way to have a good profit.

    Thank you for the shoutouts, but I have noticed that people tend to skip over the description and miss those if you don't specifically say it in your voiceover and provide a link on screen. I have to remember that when I need to give credit to another creator.
    Just a quick tip: You're missing out on damage potential by using those class C pilot guns. The highest DPS particle beams in the game are the PBO-175 Auto Helion Beams, and the Vanguard Obliterator Autoprojectors are a close second. If you keep those turrets but swap out your pilot guns for those, you'll be much more effective in combat. I use three weapon groups because I use an Xbox Elite controller, so I have those paddles under the sticks. Otherwise, using that third weapon group would be a huge pain, so I understand the use of the turrets.
    Glad I found your channel, thanks for the hard work and effort. Your content is very easy to watch.

      Hey Wizard! I'm a huge fan of your ship designs. I built the Basilik too. Its in a couple of my earlier streams, and I hyped you there as well. I stopped using the Basilik because it took up too much of the screen from the rear view. I even had someone in my chat say the ship was too big and they couldn't see the action. I would LOVE a smaller version of that ship as it has the unique unlock engines on it from the Stroud mission. A fighter sized Basilisk would be SWEET. The ship I'm using now I built, it replaced the Basilisk because I can still use my favorite engines, and my audience can still see. Thank you for the tips on the weapons. Your guidance is appreciated. So much still to learn in Starfield, and I'm still learning. I will definitely shout you out, as I have been doing, And make sure to drop links, although I cant always promise to drop one on the video as artistically it may not work, and I rarely drop text in my videos. But as of date I am sure I have sent quite a few people your way on how much I hype your designs. I even drop your links on my discord. Hope that's enough. ✌🏾 I look forward to your next designs, and will be sure to do my best to replicate and hype them up to my audience. Hope you'll be watching, lol, just kidding. I'm starting in on the Citadel tonight. Wish me luck and I hope I send more people your way!

      @@SistaCitizen I wasn’t trying to say you did anything wrong with the way you tagged me, merely making an observation.
      Dang your viewers thought the Basilisk obscured the screen? The Citadel is worse I think because of its height. I kept the Basilisk low and wide in the hopes that it would only eat up a small portion of the bottom of the screen in 3rd person.
      I have two builds that could be considered fighter versions of the Basilisk, as they both use the same weapons and one uses the same shield. The Scythe has the most visual similarity but scaled down, as well as using the game’s fastest engines…

      The Citadel is the perfect candidate for a mobile base, but honestly try not to inflate the cargo capacity any more as I have the ULTIMATE (no joke it really is) cargo hauling ship coming very soon. It has so much cargo capacity that there is no room for weapons or shields and mobility is about as low as you could get. It’s a behemoth. The Citadel is big too but it still has mid-90’s mobility and you’ll actually enjoy using it in combat. It’s a destroyer, not a container ship. Whereas the Slab is a container ship, and has over 129k equipped cargo. You won’t need another cargo ship ever again! Disclaimer: it is not recommended to fly the Slab in open space lol.

    Ships in Starfield are very cool and very fun to build. You want a ship with a lot of cargo room, the best shields and a lot of particle beam firepower. You also want a ship that looks great on both the inside and the outside.
    Useless? A Ford Pinto is useless. Especially when travelling in space.

    You can steal ships while they are on a planet also. Just keep an eye out for landing sites and leave at least one ground patrol unit alive so the ship doesn't take off. Then you can board the ship and take out the crew in normal gravity without any skills in the tech tree although if you want to steal a class C ship you will need to max piloting.

    There's a glitch where you press two buttons at once in the sell menu (ships) and it will sell the last ship in your inventory at full price without registering it first. Also, if you're planning to take a ship over, Only use the EM weapon and make sure that you've maxed that weapon's capacity. I forget which one I have, but I have 4 of them (max for that rating) and fill it up so that I'm firing full volleys each time. You can either target or not, but if you target, then just focus on the engines first, then weapons if you wish until you're in range to board. As for the other ships (when trying for one), I have a quartet of turrets with only three bars worth of power that will obliterate everything around me While I'm focusing on a single ship. Most the time they're all gone before I board.

      No Mans Sky sounds like a good game for you. Not a big deal for me. I played NMS for years, even started this channel with it. But not being able to land seemlessly on a planet is less important than being able to build a ship anyway you want. Taking over enemy ships rather than waiting for hours at a space station to buy the one you want that you cant modify or even change the colors. A crew that actually helps your ship and you can take with you planetside. Being able to get up and actually walk around your ship and not just a freighter. All that stuff, way more important than point and land.

    If you're selling a ship, there is a timing glitch you can exploit to sell ships without registering them. Starting from a ship that IS registered, press the "next" or "previous" ship button at the same time you press the "sell" button. If you do this with precisely the right timing, which usually takes a few tries, the game will check whether you CAN sell the ship when you're still on the registered ship, then confirm that you want to ACTUALLY sell the unregistered ship. This is easiest with a controller.
    Be careful about checking the amount, because if the prices don't match... you're selling the original ship. It's best to start from your home ship, which the game will refuse to sell if you get the timing wrong.

    Starfiled, is a computer game. Thr ships are really just 1s and 0s and are only real in your mind. Therefore ships are only WORTH what they can bring to your imagination. For the people to whom ships are worthless, it is really their imagination that is worthless.
    Starfield is a very fun game for many people. I used to play Pong in the 1970s. It was a small square that made up a ball and small line that made up a paddle. You bounced the ball against the side of the screen by moving the paddle. It was fun because people used their mind and had an imagination.
    People don't HAVE to fast travel anywhere. People who complain about fast travel have no self control. If you dont want to use fast travel then dont use it. There are mods for immersive takeoffs and landings, docking and grav jumps.

    Short answer - Yes

  • @slamapoop
    @slamapoop 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

    The failure of ships in the context of game play is a broad problem... First fast travel in many ways makes using them too bypassable, they're only slightly necessary. Second many of the modules and ship parts serve no ingame purpose, making the great majority of choices a self-induced handicap for the sake of cosmetics. Whether its more hab module types needing to give you some added capabilities or ship parts clearly modeled with maneuvering thrusters actually contributing to your ships mobility/maneuvering thrust stat. There needs to be more going on.
    I think in many ways its the absence of survival mechanics of any kind that really contribute most to this disconnect between how useful ships should be versus where they end up. Flying to new worlds should feel like something more of an expedition where you should need to prepare and bring as much civilization as you can afford in your moveable base as possible to improve your odds of survival. Yet besides dog fights that occur in newly entered systems and a place to store junk ships are almost inconsequential.

      Did you even watch the video?? I doubt you could take on a capital ship like I did in this video, with low level ship parts. P.S. this isnt NMS. Sounds like you just wanted to come complain.

    • @slamapoop
      @slamapoop 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I watched your video and I agree with your sentiment. I was just giving context to the issue many people have with ships and why some of my friends walked away feeling "ships are useless". I really enjoy ships.
      Part of it is that people can too easily bypass much of the ship half of the game if they want to, and it makes it feel unnecessary. That's their loss.
      The other part is that much of the options in building your own ship should tie into the ship mechanics, otherwise its just set dressing and aesthetics, despite there being evidence of more thought behind the ship parts than are represented. Again it makes many possible choices meaningless in the eyes of many players.
      Some people I know were just dumb and skipped a lot of the flying their ship around, by favoring fast travel. They did themselves a disservice.
      Building ships, it isn't crazy to want the choices you make in building your ship to have more of the sort of opportunities and impact that would make the most immediate sense. If I build a ship with Hopetech braking thrusters, my ship should brake faster than without. If I build my ship with a cargo hold hab module, you'd expect to hold more cargo but you don't. When the consequence of a choice is no different than not making a choice, it wasn't a choice.

    • @SistaCitizen
      @SistaCitizen  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I misunderstood. I was referring to ship weapons, shields and other parts needed to fight ships, not the modules. I think its cool you can unlock unique ship weapons and engines depending on the choices you make in the quests. And having your ship buffed based on your crew. Nice realistic touch. But the habs could be better.

    I view the space ship still to completely useless expect to be a vessel for fast traveling and hauling cargo and making it very personalized which is the best an also your never forced into combat you can just fast travel away from danger and just to me it feels like nothing was ever committed tot but not being able to fly from to space to a planets surface like in no mans sky I think the other point of this also is tile generation in no mans sky is just one thing from what you said in the past but starfield has biomes like in Minecraft that’s what I was really wanting to be able to fly around a planet and omg that’s a big mountain on going to land at the base of that mountain climb and put a house on it.
    But planets are not real they don’t have rivers lakes ravines canyons expect for the hand crafted parts. It’s just so insane to me understand that it’s insane difficult to get right but I hope they try later with that as free updates later because if they do that I can get over the not being able to fly seemless to planets and space I’m just huge nerd when it comes to geography and land and space
    Because when I got sick of seeing the same same buildings everywhere I went looking to nature trying to get lost but then I found a whole lot nothing here and there I’d find cool places like insanely cool places but you have to get lucky and also go on the edge of map before the invisible boarders it’s kinda of cool
    Just wish the stupid outpost had more freedom to allow to place things instead of constantly telling me no can’t do that foundation are to tall….

      You think the ships are useless because you cant land on a planet seamlessly? After everything in this video? I find the planets in NMS repetitive. Anywhere you land on the planet you've seen the whole biome because there is only one per planet. You can see everything there is to see wherever you land seamlessly. Same resources, same landscape just rearranged. Discounting the epic battles and ship stealing (which you cant do in NMS you have to wait sometimes hours at a space station, then you just buy it from the NPC, and you cant even change the colors or ship design) seems nit picky when you compare the two. And the crew on your freighter and at your outposts are useless in NMS. They dont give you buffs in any way. Just npc filler. They cant even follow you for planet exploration. The space combat in NMS is useless and reputative as well. Even annoying to some, so much so the devs had to make an option to turn it off if you want. What game turns off combat because it can get annoying? I get what you're saying, but landing seamlessly is the only thing NMS has over Starfield when it comes to ships. Thank you for your comment.

      @@SistaCitizen I sadly do and it’s a lot more then seamlessly landing on planets and flying around in the atmosphere even though those are the biggest points for me that really miss the mark personally of course but also not being able to fly to other nearby planets in same system I am totally cool with opening menus to be able to go to another system and a loading screen to be get out of my ship to walk on the planet that’s perfectly fine with me.
      Starfield has the ability to generate other biomes if you go past the invisible barrier you need a mod but then we have issues with floating points and the game crashing it’s a wild mess
      But to what your saying that epic battles in space. are just done in a way that doesn’t commit well like you can just jump away and never interact with space fights ever expect in a couple quests were your forced to do so but then you can simply fly away and let the NPC ship take care of them if they are some present at the time.
      I love that we are able to go after M-class ships I feel like they should have made that a bit apparent or easier to find out on.
      Another thing about stealing ships I had so many issues with that I think I had over 20 ships I couldn’t steal because the door said inaccessible and then the ones I tried to steal from space I couldn’t interact with the pilots seat
      And the ones I was to finally get my hands on I only made a net profit of like 12 grand after registration
      I love designing ships it’s my favorite part of the whole game personally takes to long to get all the perks in my opinion that’s just a compliment though and then lvl locked ship parts is crazy to me
      But for a ship that I always happen to use is my cargo battleship even though I’d rather use my F-22 Raptor of a spaceship but I full up on space to quickly yes I have a hoarding problem in all video games it’s nuts

He plays way more then me now and from what he’s explained to me about ship combat it was good / bad mostly fixed but still gave player the option to turn off because of the pvp griefers that you were able to turn off I could be 100% wrong he also plays flight sims so he likes combat but has it turned off unless he spots pvp griefers and gets in his fully upgraded noob ship to lure in the griefers
      Also the outpost stuff is just a lesser version of fallout 4 I spent hundreds of hours building in fallout 4 from release to 2018 all on vanilla because mods blue screened my computer so bad I had to get a new ssd and operating system lmfao 🤣 and NPC buffs from the testing I have done and tried to figure out it doesn’t help you like at all you do get something just doing seem like much… don’t understand why they even have skills to give us hand it’s not super helpful and they kind of just filler too in my opinion I really haven’t notice a difference in gameplay because of NPC’s. I’m okay with it you know I just wish they would be more up front with what there skills do for us a player instead of hiding it with stars.

      @@SistaCitizen also if I could explain this point to and this from a perspective point I design things for a living and how people interact with machines. Yes I am about to talk about loading screens lmfao I really thought people were being ridiculous about this but then I started making mistakes with misclicks and then they started showing themselves
      And to give you a frame of what I’m working on is PC 3090ti, intel I-9, m.2 1tb with tons of free space it only has starfield on it so that way it can run faster and gather data
      Okay now let’s say the I need to go Vergil 2 from planet earth for a quest an i go to space from earth that’s like 10 seconds I have to femble my way through another set of sub menus 5 to 10 seconds wait for my grav drive to spin but I’m on power setting 1 so it takes 10 seconds so then I start moving over the power and that takes another 3 seconds then a cut scene takes 3 seconds then I’m in orbit then I open up the menu again click on the planet that takes another 5 to 10 seconds and boom another cut scene 5 seconds then another loading screen 3 seconds. That’s a lot of time just in menus and loading screens if you’re being 100% efficient and you have m.2 and fast everything else which not everyone has. that’s just thought on everything
      I’ve seen some amazing technology with software and they way we can unload and load assets almost seamlessly and it’s just crazy that this game just feels like space is pretty much optional
      Now that’s not the way you play it of course but it’s a way that someone else can play and taking the time to go oh I can do this it’s like you are unable to unsee it forever it’s like a glaring graphical issue
      I’m not hating this game I just wish it was different to be honest with you I think this game has great potential but has some serious flaws if we are also excluding space as whole and planet proc gen

    You can not even sell ships for a good profit. Space battles are not profitable or useful.

    • @SistaCitizen
      @SistaCitizen  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      They are the most profitable way to make money in the game. Sounds like you didn't even watch the video and just wanted to come and complain. I literally made 150k in credits, not including the loot and credits from the capital ship I destroyed and the ships I stole in just a half hour. Your comment proves my whole point of people with strong opinions upset about untrue things. If you had maxed your commerce and piloting skills you can make tens of thousands selling a single ship. Ship vendors have 100k - 300k so you don't have to wait 48hrs to make hundreds of thousands of credits in one sale. I wish people would at least know what they are talking about if they are going to argue a point.

      If you hate this "boring game" why did you click the video? You were wrong about the ships. You just wanted to complain about ships, when you dont understand how to even use them? "You cant sell ships for a good profit" WRONG. So instead you make a general statement about the game, when clearly you didn't learn the gameplay. Obvious to anyone who plays this game seriously. You just came here to complain about nonsense. Thank you for your comment. It proves my point perfectly about the haters.

      @@SistaCitizen This game is trash. It is a soulless empty experience. It has some fun things about it. But honestly if you can admit this game is not a good game, then you are just being a Bethesda fanboy. It is a load screen simulator where none of your choices matter and you just fast travel everywhere. watching another load screen and animation of your ship landing and taking off. The least immersive "RPG" Bethesda has made. Literally can't even roleplay in this game. All the companions and planets are empty and the same. I tried to be a pirate and everyone hates me. All my choices are meaningless. I also told TH-cam not to recommend your videos anymore. That is the reason I clicked on it. Because it was in my video feed. The target audience for Starfield is casual gamers.

      Has the same loading times as Skyrim and Fallout in number of seconds. They improved them though, by swapping out the loading screen place holder photos, with the photos you take in photomode, rather than watching a screen of a rotating FO4 bobblehead or member of the Dark Brotherhood. Also, you don't have to take any of the Constellation companions with you. One playthrough the Hunter had already murdered everyone in Constellation when I got to the Lodge. I used it as a homebase since I had the place to myself. It doesn't matter if they hate you if you understand the game. You are Starborn and they aren't real people, nothing you do will change the multiverse they are in. Plus, they are like pets compared to you anyway. And there are like 8 other companions you can find in the game who dont care what you do, on top of Mathis from the Crimson Fleet (actual pirate), and the funny weird chef guy. I use them to pirate. Amelia Earhart was an awesome companion, and I use Betty all the time. The choices you make that do matter will unlock unique ship parts. So, here you are again with the wrong facts. Keep up the comments though, its fun debunking them. @@theviperman1947

      People write full on dissertations about how much they hate it. Baulders Gate reminds me of an old school mobile game with its overhead combat and pause in battles to pick from a menu what to do next, but I'm not all up in the threads writing dissertations about it. Its just not for me. The end. People just want something to complain about, especially if its popular to complain. And you can tell by the haters, they didnt play long enough or correctly to understand the game. Thank you for your comment.

    Ships are cool but down side of them,iswe spend half the game in them. Pluss we can't really decorate them=well you can but if you switch ships it all disappears. We need to be able to decorate the interior an the items stay. They did this with camps in fallout 75 you change camps an each camp up 2 5 camps items stay when you change camps. Each ship needs be treated as a camp an have a decorate venue like fallout76.
