I found one of these in a bag outside of a salvation army donation bin last winter here in Norway. Partly covered by a layer of ice but after thawing it in the shower and opening it up to check the condition of it i found that it worked just fine. Even the cassette mechanism did not need changing belts. Salvation Army would have thrown this in the trash as it was outside the bin but it now serves as my bathroom cd player and radio.

Ive got one of these. Got it thrifting. I dont remember how much, but i do know that it was less than 10 bucks. It works perfectly. Only gripe is the awful tinny sound from it. Speakers are so lame that not even bass boost helps.
I have two similar ones. Work perfectly. Btw...the volume looks like that on all of them. Both of mine were the same price as yours. I use them a lot with no issues. Mega bass doesn't do much, but i can live with it 😂 And great tape choices and I'd keep it too!!
I have one since new. Bought around 2007. It looks cool, the built quality is decent, but it lacks "boom" for a boombox. Even for 3" speakers, it's just extremely tinny sounding.

Under $10 is a great price, I find these are good for garage work or a trip to the beech not something I’ve been using at home TBH

Mine sounds ok 👍 it’s not hifi sound but I’m ok for the $$ 😜
