    In Poland, additionally, mineral wool is put between the rafters and then secured with aluminum foil and this works

    Im glad to know how to do that. Ive already finished remodeling my walls in the main house so my plan is to start in the attic this fall.

    The best one I seen that would work with my ceilings at our home in Palm Springs

    Nice. I have a room just like this. We have duct work issues up there and definitely some insulation issues too. We do have a ridge vent, but no soffit vents (yet). I'm ripping the drywall down to diagnose. Looking to add Attic Foil and insulation. Thanks for the video!

    Very cool. (pun intended). I'm going to put some of this in and then engineer something to capture the heat from the top and recirculate it for the winter months when I get a lot more direct sun when the leaves are gone. Something to try in my copious free time :)

    Very helpful....great explanation for air gap.

    Why wouldn’t you have just stapled it to the bottom of the rafters and had a 6” air gap ?
    We run it across the rafters not parallel with them .

      Because I needed to get 10” thick of r30 bat insulation in there as well

      @@Archifx so you're putting Batts on top of this?

      Did it already. Yeah

      @@Archifx now that it’s winter have you had any condensation form between your r30 insulation and radiant barrier. I’m running into that issue now? Have good ventilation and still getting the issue. Currently trying to come up with a solution now.

    What do you do if there is no ridge vent present?

      No ridge vent in a cathedral ceiling or regular attic?

  • @tobystevens3109
    @tobystevens3109 ปีที่แล้ว

    Why use this instead of regular baffles?

    • @DR-um2bv
      @DR-um2bv ปีที่แล้ว

      Regular1"tallx4'Lx16"W baffles are 3$ a piece . The insulation board is 1/2tallx8Lx4W & 20$ a board . Can cut the 4x8 board in 1" strip and get 48 of them and use the foil as baffles to spread the 16". . If was just keeping the insulation off roof then baffles are easy and cheaper price for same project plus no cutting boards and 1" air gap instead of 1/2" air gap. Finding something not expensive and take the heat to cover the 16" or 24" center rafters is the problem.
