Hi Paul. Great shave today. I have a 59' Fatboy . You are correct, Gillette created a beauty. Wet Shaving Products make a Creed clone soap (Olympus) which I really enjoy. Just need a splash to go with it now. Stay safe!

I haven't been watching for over a year, got busy and got out of wet shaving for a while but during the lockdown here in Vegas I have gotten back into wet shaving both face and Head (Daily shaves) and I have been catching up on all of your videos I have missed. I have been away for so long that I actually forgot my old login info so I had to make up a new one and re-subscribe to your channel. I am happy that you and your wife are both doing well and your videos always put me in a good mood. Thanks for keeping your channel going Paul. Thanks Jeff.

Nothing beats a classic Gillette Fatboy!! I have 5 of them! I was lucky enough to get them at fair prices! I have one in near mint condition with original case, and blades with instruction sheet still wrapped in cellophane. Can't wait for the replica to come out! I ordered one of each! Love your videos, thanks always!!

I just recently bought a beautiful 30mm SynBad Synthetic Brush (w/ Summer "Hulk" Handle) from A.P. Shave Co. Andrew recommended it because I shave both my face and scalp (x3 passes), so there's a lot of real estate to cover. 😊

Nice one Paul. Sorry to hear Mrs.H has 'acquired' your Aventus and that you will likely never see it again! The haircut and that shave today, and maybe the 'lightning effects' appear to have taken a few years off you by the way👍🤣

Nice video. Gillette made wonderful excellent razors, both in the US and England. I have several and they are amazing pieces of history, working perfectly 60+ years later! Have bought several of them online, and just refuse to pay for a copy irrespective of quality. Even worse if they are more expensive and there is the question: how long will they last. Probably like cars, washing machines and refrigerators...not as good as the old one. Anyway, vintage Gillette I think cannot be beaten and the Fatboy is my favorite....followed by some of the UK non adjustable TTO. Cheers

Good evening Paul! Thank you Mrs H for the lovely orange tree...it is lifting my spirits immensely. That red of the brush handle matches perfectly your lather bowl. Oh, boy....the Fatboy. I love the look of that razor; sturdy and fashionable. Unfortunately, the shave quality from my example has me avoiding selecting it more often. The issue is the ATG pass...it bites often no matter how light of a touch I might try to have. Captain's Choice products are good. I have the Bay Rum shaving soap, aftershave, and balm, plus the lather bowl. I have tried a few of Scott's other scents and all of them smell great. The aftershave scent are not long lasting when compared to other makers, such as Fine, PAA, Stirling. My tiny bottle of Creed Aventus was a travel causality. I placed it into a sock to pad it and forgot I did. It drop onto a tile floor and shattered. At least the Condo smelled nice for a few days. Having trouble selecting products for the SOTD. I'm keen on trying the new Gillette King C Gillette razor and matching blades. Perhaps a go with the PAA CaD soap and matching aftershave. Of course, Thayer's skin toner...either scent free or Coconut water...you can't go wrong there, eh? Great shave, Paul. You make it look so easy. Take care and stay safe!

Razors which need no intro, the vintage Gillette adjustables remain the pinnacle of quality control and engineering, even by today's standards.

    Nice shave, Paul!
I can't say I'm a huge fan of Fatboy though, there are razors that are much more efficient, so I just appreciate it as a piece of history and machinery and of course I have it in my collection (F-3). And the other day I've almost had a heart attack when I dropped it in my bathroom, bent the guard slightly but managed to straighten it back. It got me thinking that the razor has been kept in order for 60 years and I happened to damage it in only half a year of ownership. Well, one might think I added some history to it)

Wow. Just received my second razor and first vintage, a 1963 slim adjustable. Also received my second and third brush, the AP Shave co. Synbad 28mm and Cashmere 22m. Looks like I made the right choices based on this video. Can’t wait for today’s shave!
Also, since you speak highly of them, will probably check out the Captains Choice soaps now that I’ve discovered they’re vegan.

Hi Paul. A good rundown on all the products but I didn`t get your take on the blade. Maybe I just missed it. Like you said, Gillette usually got it right the first time. That generation sure knew how to make razors. Stay safe and well and drink a Carling for me. Cheers😊

Actually that razor was called the 1.95 for it's price back in the day. When the slim adjustable was introduced in 1961, people started calling the 1.95, the Fat boy. The slim sold for 1.79 until 1969.

With my shave today I did a little experiment I usually shave once or twice a week and I decided to shave with 24 hours growth with
Gillette Ball End Tech ( Gold)
    Victory Shave Co “WitchCraft”
And I don’t know how ppl shave everyday I did a 2 pass shave across and against but could of gotten away with just doing an against the gain pass and call it a day. My facial hair isn’t very coarse or thick I would say it’s average... I mean I can grow a bad-ass beard if I wanted too 🧔 With the my R-41 I can go about 2-3 days till I have full growth lol . I just enjoy my Shaves alit more when I have a little bit more stubble
