Gorkamorka has many forms. Gorkamorka can be two giant orruks that can combine into one. Therefore Gorkamorka is like Voltron and all of his various aspects come together to become one super god!
One thing I liked about the Battletome was how they indirectly built up other factions of Grots. For example, one time they mentioned that there are Hysh Mongol-Like Grots that worship the sun, and hinting again to the Grotbag Scuttlers, whatever they are. Great Video!
I used to have a Night Goblins army. I had a Green G-nit, a Warboss riding a giant squig, and a Warlock who was always drunk whose favorite spell was projecting his hangovers at/onto enemies. I was tremendously disappointed by the Age of Sigmar's lack of goblin-lore, but now I can bring out my old models once again.
I find the bad moon rather interesting as before AoS the bad moon was shown to be in the realm of chaos and was likely neutral territory that neither of the chaos gods seemed to own. So it's possibly that somehow the bad moon was knocked out of the realm of chaos and managed to gain the worship of the Gloomspite (possibly by tricking them into believing that it had a connection with Gorkamorka), meaning that it's possibly a very minor chaos god in it's own right, kind of like one of the theories about Hashut's origin from fantasy battles.
It was interesting to be reading the Battletome along with you this time. I didn't manage to get through it enough to get that holistic picture, but I did read some of the opening pages talking about the Bad Moon and Gorkamorka. What I've been having trouble with is that warlike state of the "Gloomspite". I believe it was likened to Waagh! at one point or another, but what sort of feelings it creates in grots have kinda thrown me for a loop. As an overview, I do think this is a nice sort of primer that sets the mood for the week, even if it leaves out some points like the Gloomspite and grots' collective nature as a race. I believe it might become elaborated on as the week continues, but I understand why some points were left out regardless. I'm definitely looking forward to your deep dive into the heroes. Ever since I saw the model for Skraggrot, I knew I had to learn more and while school continues to prevent me from reading as much as I want, I know 2+ Tough's got my back all week.
Totally! When I mentioned that the book was like Ghyran (Throwing a dozen ideas at you in rapid succession) the real challenge in making a lore series for them was distilling that into something that was easy to follow for new folks. So i passed over things like the "Gloomspite" and so forth. Truthfully, these videos are meant to inspire and educate rather then be an encyclopedia-ish take haha.
I took it to be that there’s a collective agitation like with Orruks, but with the Gitz it’s less about becoming drawn to mindless bloodshed and more towards causing mischief and mayhem. Sorta like in the Nolan Batman movies, how the Joker and Bane sorta encourage others to go crazy or lawless as if they’re spreading madness
Or put another way, it’s playing off the old wives tale that the full moon brings out the crazy (albeit all my nursing friends claim they get more patients during full moons).
Just started AOS and this is my army of choice! First game I managed to killed a royal terrorgeist with a squad of spider riders! I think I'm going to like these guys!
Just wanted to say i wanted to get into warhammer and I watched this video 2 years ago and it made me get these goblins as my first ever army so thank you so much!
Gotta love the Greenskins utterly wild and fun keep up the good work you should do a video based on the Greenskins interactions with other races I’m curious on the Greenskins meeting death faction
I was surprised to see these guys getting a new realise I love a lot of the lore about them and the way they look models wise. Is there any army you would to see get some new stuff.
I really appreciate how environmental these new factions are. The origin stories are relevant to the world we are playing in now. One thing I did not like in the old world was how stagnant the world felt. Historically there were amazing battle and events, but the current timeline for much of life of the game felt stagnant.
One thing I like is how the gobbos have more religious ideas unlike how they were before as it seemed every culture has a purely monotheistic religion. Always nice to have variety.
I get it! Its a beacon put the by the Kork for gork and mork in the pocket realm where the warhammer fantasy is. so there orks, where they are forced to a feral existence have a beacon of physic power. It may also explain why orks in the setting have no tech they are purposly hinderd by the bad moon so they dont overwhelm the planet as a part of an anceint agreement by the old ones. Yup thats my head canon now.
@@iamalpharius3959 that sounds... really zoggin cool!I'm kinda a newbie to AOS(started 40k) but are we talking about the Krork, the original Orks in 40k,or are the kork something else completely?
I actually like when they say x subfaction prefers to use y or has y in abundance/deficit. its a good way to give them machanical uniqueness as well rather than just a fifferent coat of paint.

There isn’t much about AOS that I don’t at least like but I have always had a weak spot for goblins, even more so than orks. I think it’s their reliance on deviousness as opposed to brute force. They have a low, base cunning that you have to admire. Squigs and goblins and spiders, oh my. There must be a Bad Moon rising. Thanks for the vid, Doug! P.S. I like how we are slowly, starting to see other long term consequences of the Necroquake. I felt a little jipped as a death player that there was a lot of hoopla about the quake but not much actual payoff. The fact that it has a direct effect on a completely new faction, I personally think is fantastic and it shows that the writers have an actual vision for their narrative. I love it!!
Overall enjoyed the book, but my biggest complaint is that they didn't flesh out Skrappa Spill enough. We have a map of where its located, we know how it was conquered, but we don't really know what Grot civillization is like there, even though its the faction lead by their most important character. Which is somewhat dissapointing, because the idea of a large above-ground Gloomspite empire is interesting, and a city made out of a mountain of scrap could be a pretty interesting setting.
sorry about that. Basically the necroquake made the Bad moon go nuts. it used to chill and move around slowly, now its a runaway missle. As the Bad Moon goes across the realms it pulls the Gloomspite to the surface
If you wanted to be extremely ambitious you should have requested permission to borrow a good song by Finntroll who produces pretty much the only music sutible for goblins and trolls, but I guess this works too. Keep up the good work
