The red blue combo on the browning is supposed to enhance blood for trailing wounded game at night.
He did a video testing the best color for blood tracking and found that a combination of red and blue works pretty good as well as just brute Force high CFL/warmer lights

The red & blue together is a blood tracking mode for when you’re hunting. If you shoot an animal and don’t kill it and it runs off, the purple(Ish) color makes it easy to track the blood of the animal.

@Castle Bravo Agree with your point. If you do search and rescue then I can see more powerfull flashlights are needed. But I have flashlights from 50 to thousands of lumens. What do I nearly always carry? AA Fenix E12 button switch that hits 130 lmns max ( it has a great beam). I do sometimes carry up to 1000 lmns, but I realy don't need it. Anything above that is for camping and fun for me.
I work nightshifts, but my flashlights are used for finding my way into rooms and finding the light switch My fenix just suits that perfectly, and the tail switch is easy to find also.
I'm so addicted to flashlights, that I always carry 3 types of flashlights with me, one of them, it's the " Nebo Pro Inspector " and 2 knifes, ( EDC). Thanks man, I need to do an upgrade, about my flashlights

I've got a Nebo Inspector RC, pretty good light in my opinion. Also have a Rovy Von Aurora A1 as my keychain light. Pretty good combo. Carry em everywhere...

Dang! The Iprotec 1400 actually puts out 1584 lumen huh!? Nice! I have one, love it. Built good, no wobble, bright, and the led reflector and power button are both glue in the dark! Handy for camping, to find it in pitch black
That first iprotecc slide is the same as a nebo slide king I own. Except the nebo uses a 18650.
That was alot of torches to look at and interesting to see your views with each one.
I'm not a fan of any torch that take ni-cad alkaline batteries.
If it isnt lithium I'm not interested! Ni-cad alkaline batteries are crap and cant give out the current and dont last that long!

The iProtec light with the "dial" tailcap seems a Nebo flashlight, a smaller light sold some years ago!
All this iProtec line seems ...Nebo in looks!! 🙄
The plastic is delrin , it's also use for intake manifolds on engines .
It's all about the heat factor and delrin can take qite a bit .

I've been reviewing flashlights since 1990.
Up to now what I van recommend is
Thrunite TN12 (2016) powered by a single 3.7v 18650.
Streamlight stinger LED powdered by a rechargeable 3 sub C NiCad battery stick.
Streamlight stylus pen powdered by one AAA.
These lights are several years old and been used and dropped, not just on a shelf for show.
Dont waste your money on anything else.
Your protection 1400 is the same as my Nebo Redline, also a 1400. It's been a good light and I always carry it.
Hello Matt Smith. I purchase one of those ACEBEAM W30 from Amazon. It came directly from Hong Kong, China. (DHL) I got it in 4 days. Great little unit it definitely gives you a different perspective. Your first suggestion that you gave me was the BLF GT flashlight. I love this monster. I have almost $500 tied up between these two flashlights. LOL

The corner insets were very helpful for this review of multiple flashlights. Looking forward to next weeks super thrower comparison. The Acebeam W30 white laser flashlight is truly astounding and quite revolutionary in the usage of true laser illumination. Thanks, as always.

I have a hunch that iProtec is a rebrand of Nebo.
Jon Fromm definitely is. “Slyde” and that logo is a Nebo trademark and those are Nebo batteries that came with it.

We get some of Browning's equipment in outdoors stores in the UK (clothing and flashlights mostly) and I've never seen a single item of theirs that is remotely fit for purpose. I guess they keep the good stuff in the US and throw the rest on a boat :)
Those iProtecs look link an OEM flashlight, there is a brand called Nebo that has all the same flashlights. I also have a Crasftman that I bought for $8 on sale at Lowes and is identical to the night commander, angling head , ring light and all without the green mode and has a thicker bezel I have a feeling they are all from the same factory!

Today I picked up the iprotec pro angle. Rechargeable 500 lumen
I tell ya what for 24 bucks it kicks ass on my nitcore po5 and I picked up the 250 lumen head lamp 19 bucks again super impressed
I have the 6 AAA Nebo Blast. I want to Thank You again Matt for recommending I use two 26500s for this light. Along with recharging capability, the ouptut of the light has increased as well.
I also have 2 Ozark Trail DL-500 spotlights. These have been really good lights when I needed them. I keep one in each of our cars, just in case.
Hey Matt Snap on has a similar design of that Iprotact but the only difference is it has a light and red laser pointer on top. The light is called pocket flood light.

Nebo make the twisty angle head lights, I don't own any but see them a lot in trade stores

Out of all the lights that I saw you cover in the second video I agree with you that the little beeper light and I would like to call it, is the coolest. If you tape a piece of red light gel over it and clip it to your hunting clothes, it would make an excellent light for night hunting or for walking out to your Deerstand early in the morning. It would also make a really nice light for a mechanic working underneath a vehicle. And the price is fair at $25-$30. I think some of these other lights are just junk. I refuse to buy anything that runs on a pile of AA or AAA Batteries in a holder. It’s fine to have a line that uses one or two primary sales, but 6-9 s ridiculous. When you have that many batteries, you should be using something like an 18 650. Point blank

Great video buddy I definitely can't stand those zoomies but theres on I actually like that I can tolerate is the fenix fd41. I think it's the best zoomable light so far...
Out of all of these, I'm only really interested in the Slim 500, the Blackout and above all the M&P 1050. Even then not at these prices I'm seeing here, but hey, if it's the end of the world in the US and I find a stash of lights, those would go straight into my bag.

i wish the pro500slim could have a red light version, or detachable color filter, and put an additional button at the top
in case the traffic light went offline, i can regulate the traffic with it
or maybe in the event of emergency, tell an engineer to stop the train
and i wish it to be with some rubber armor to make it shock resistant.

*I'd love to see a chart like this for all the top flashlight brands... I'm on the fence about an expensive flashlight that puts out 1.93 million giggle joules for 30 seconds... Yes they are cool , but wtf good is 30 seconds worth of light in the grand scheme of things and then your at 1/3 or whatever... Whats the point ? Its like buying a really fast car that goes 0-100 in 5 seconds flat but it only gets a mile on a full tank... I don't see the logic*

I am looking for a simple flash light for my daughter .When she leaves Uni ,she only has her light on her phone . She needs one especially in the winter.
I do like the "Larry" style lights and I have a Nebo Redline that I like. I've got the angle head light you demoed and it's not that great. The angle head seems a bit weak and it eats batteries. Love the updates, awesome.

Matt I would love to see your take on a couple of thrunite lights the t1 and the tt10 recently I purchased both for myself I carry them in tandem small one in the pocket the bigger one in a maxpedition belt sheath .

No, but an 18500 will fit an power it on. Not quite big enough around for a 26350.

As far as consumer grade flashlights, I'd rather see more with a built in li-ion pack w/ usb charging instead of those god awful 3xAAA adapters.

Well, most of them are beat my low expectations. Some of them are even seem to be pretty good lights, just a bit expensive compared to online options. With many coming in sealed packages it'd be impossible to tell the wheat from the chaff in store, which would makes your comparison invaluable to anyone considering one of these lights. Sadly I'm not sure how many of the potential buyers would be checking TH-cam reviews before their purchase.
The idea of green lights is in a hunting scenario, the green light startles/scares animals less, the same way they're not scared of grass/trees I think?

Wow. I'm extremely disappointed with these lights. Specially with the prices of them. Regarding output, quality, and usefulness, my Convoy c8 or m21a blows them all away. The markup on these crappy lights is insane. I'll stick to Convoy, Astrolux, and Lumintop. Thanks for another awesome review. Can't wait to see the K75 next week!

Ok but why replace a tried and true small pinhole recharging port with a huge USB port? that's just more used up real estate on the flashlight.
@@thereturningshadow because USB is everywhere and it's a great source of DC power. You aren't supposed to plug the thing into your computer. The whole idea with USB is that its universal. Think of how easy it is to find a USB power source VS. How difficult finding the correct size, voltage and polarity Barrel plug charger

I don't know of any Sofirn models that are bad, and they can be bought in bundles with battery and charger. Good deal.
Other than that, I can only recommend Convoy, but the brand takes some know-how and is not a good entry level.
