Hi Walt. Yes! Another Husqy video! Husqvarna upgraded the clutch on the 560 (can't remember which year) due to premature failures. I found a few with hairline cracks in them after low hours on the saw. Keep em coming Walt. It's definitely winter here across the pond by the way!
nice video , I watch all your videos and have seen alot of your investigations / rebuilds/mods to this saw series , thus the reason i got a 562xp from US ( not available in UK ) which is as you said, has the large mount D009 as all my saws use that mount and i like it , done muffler mod to it and top cover opened up and real high quality heat reflective tape to chassis and covers . keep them coming Walt , and after this series done , need the updates on the 385xp junksaws, as i have one too :-)
Great video I loved the manufacturing and design aspect I was in the design field myself. I can tell you were a teacher. I learned a lot and subbed thanks for all the good information. That was great explanation of the design , production snd Manufacturing process related to Husqvarna chainsaws. I have a pro model still and and a 2095 that is part of a jonsered sawmill. Keep those videos coming. I'd love to know more about my 2095 and it's history of design evolution.
Awesome, will be following this series intently as I have a 555 with the old 5 bolt case and the usual bar oil leak under the muffler. If I am going to tear it down why not make some upgrades at the same time. Great video as always.
Did you had a bar oil leak under the muffler? what was the side? I have a 2258 and was leaking bar oil, from the lower right hand side screw(watching the saw from front of the muffler). I tought it my be the case cracked because it was getting out just when the tank was full. I put some gasket silicone and no probleme since than. Happy New Year!
Cristi Ro mine in definitely leaking under the muffler. I pulled the muffler off and the gasket has started to fail in the case, right under the muffler.
hell ya i have went nuts and started collecting chainsaws.i have over 100 now new and old.always looking something weird neat faster etc.been watchin reading all these who makes best saw fastest saw etc ,well one thing can tell you this is best video i have seen yet lots details and info love it.i love the old partners was built so well run awesome still run with todays saws and easy to work on problem is parts.so that being said my favorite is dolmar for these reasons.1 price lots cheaper than stihl or husky 2 dependable 3 power is awesome have the high end torque and the bottom end grunt also 4 i just tore down dolmar 120 i had 2 allen wrenches screwdriver and i socket in like 20 mins had hole saw apart .built well east to repair ,so thats someting i dont see or hear in all thes vids of who has best saw its always how fast or weight,it would be awesome if you did a vid of husky echo stilh dolmar tear down 2 c diffrences.ps lookin to have some porting mods done get lighter 50 cc saw kicking it with bigger cc saws do you do that type work for people.again awesome video
I need a quick 3 sentance synopsis of what this covered im a bit confused. I just bought a husqvarna 555 thinking it was an “xp”. Do you know what the difference between a 555 vs 562xp would be? Stuffer crank and what else? Higher revs/more power? Thanks! Great video!

What about the 556? I see that the Australian market have that saw and it looks like the 555 version of 562 but with the d009 bar mount and a larger filter set up. What's your thoughts on it? Good video by the ways. Always learning this ;) I wouldn't of thought the crankshaft would of been different size on 562, I'm glad I didn't strip my 560 down to make one. But our uk market now has the 562 so it happy days ;)

Walt, are 555 early 2012 cases the same as 2021? I have access to a 2021 555 crankcase with top and bottom end to replace my old 555 fried bottom end. I need to use my carb, coil, flywheel, clutch muffler tank and skins.
Can pretty much swap everything over. You might even have an old five screw case on the 2012, doesn't matter. May be some differences in the bar oil pump & worm gear.

I have a burning question. All these saws on the bench, the fan side of the cases have a that thin bar running along the top, over the fan. How vital is that bar? If it is broken, is the case half junk? Is it there more for filler or is it critical for rigidity? I have a 372xp I want to rebuild, but the bar is broken...
Tig it. But make sure it's there or u will suck the plug wire into the flywheel .. only a matter of time. It needs to be there if for no other reason to hold the air inductor out of the flywheel. I doubt it adds much to the structural rigidity of the crank case. But there are other reasons just as likely to stop your saw for it to exist. :) Cases are cheap... if it's a X-Torq there are a PILE of flywheel side case halves without pto side's as those saws ate the pto side bearing pockets.. I would got that direction if it's a later than 2010 saw.
Love them ... for any application. They, for what ever reason; had less issues than the 562 & 2260's. I think they are probably the best in that series along with the Jonsered 2258. Just an opinion
..Question:..Has Husqvarna discontinued the Jonsered professional saws?..I checked their website a bit ago(I do that with all the saw manufacturers from time to time, to see what is new, and what has been discontinued), and all I saw on their website was smaller, homeowner-type saws..did they get tired of doing the Chevy/GMC thing?...
The Jonsereds Really were Husqvarna designs with different plastic. Husqvarna stopped selling those red "pro" level saws as a "Jonsered" brand and with a few of the models sell them through the "Redmax" brand out of New Jersey. Parts are still available at some level through the Husqvarna dealers as the parts list available to the dealers include all those models manufactured by Husqvarna.

I was aware that they were just Husqvarnas with slightly different handlebars, plastic covers and other external cosmetic parts(hence the GMC reference..the Husqvarna being the higher-volume Chevrolet, and the Jonsered being the lower-volume GMC)...but I didn't know that Husqvarna had pretty much kicked them to the curb in favor of RedMax..just looked at RedMax's website, and yes, there are the RedMax branded Jonsereds..didn't even have to change the color..just the stickers and I.D. tags...what I really don't get, though, is why they did that, as Jonsered is a better known name in forestry and professional chainsaw circles, as where RedMax is better known to lawncare professionals(trimmers, blowers, etc.)..plus, Jonsered just sounds better than RedMax, and looks better emblazoned on the covers of your chainsaw..RedMax sounds like a used feminine hygiene product...
They don't market it as one but essentially all the materials and construction is. Just words to wrap pricing around. The 555/2258 are about the vest deals on the market in that class saw.
@@afleetcommand I have a 555 and its had about 50 tanks of gas through it now. After 20 or so tanks it started to wake up something wicked. It's a rediculously good saw for a home gamer like me. A 20" bar with a Sharp full house chain and a full thermous of coffee. That makes for a deadly Saturday in the bush. The 555 is a total mystery to some. I always call it a de-tuned 562xp - they kind of get. I should call it 365's smarter little brother. What do y'all think?

Will you tell me more about stuffer cranks? They are made to take up space? They help with rev boost but how? What does it do to the cylinder?

No stuffers help on the high end of the RPM's, but it will all "blend" regardless

Are the bearings the same for a 575xp and 346xp
Think the PTO side is with a common part number 525434201, but not certain on the flywheel side. Ebay seems to think so.
So all jonsered chainsaws are pretty close to husqvarnas

More torque with the 555 and they had less issues. 555 is the best of the lot in terms of reliability. Excellent saw.
The 572 and 562 550 is a trouble with the bering with little use.
Where did you get that muffler on the 562
Like everything I do my own work and mod my own parts. It's really not hard, can't imagine spending a Nickle on that type of thing.
