Aahh, you drove through so many places I lived and loved! Travelled over Dutoitskloof Pass almost every weekend for five years while I was in the Army in Youngsfield, Cape Town, worked for Die Burger newspaper as a junior crime reporter, and later Stellenbosch University, because my parents lived in Worcester. We also lived in Oudtshoorn in 1964-65 and I went to school in the building that now houses the CP Nel Museum. Later I also did a stint in the Infantry School in Oudtshoorn. It remains one of my all-time favourite towns and I have enduring memories of the place.
I really enjoyed the narration in your vlog Matt, makes me feel like I'm along for the ride. Glad you enjoyed North Carolina and Utah when you were here this summer, next time you'll have to come check out Nashville Tennesee.

I took the N1 but bypassed the toll tunnel by taking the DuToitskloof Pass. I stayed on the N1 until Laingsburg where I took the road to Seweweekspoort through the Swartberg mountains, and then turned back on to the tar road to Calitzdorp and Oudtshoorn.

There is not much hunting around Cape Town. You have to drive a long way
This area is best seen by driving R62 from Paarl
