Well articulated. I'm a fan of buying from store or preloved if the price is right and if its something I really want. I agree it all really comes down to having a strategy.

I like your philosophy. I love browsing resellers sites for good deals but I'm always scared of buying a fake. But it's true that you can get really good bargains, especially on Hermes. I bought my Bolide 35 for about half off retail. I am planning to buy a plume and they sell for about 1/3-1/2 of retail prices. I bought a vintage Kelly 32 for around $2500. Luckily I was offered a B30 but I am still waiting for my store offer for a K28.

I bought a Roulis in Rose Sakura in nearly perfect condition, under retail. Although not a quota bag, it was exactly the color and size I wanted, plus I live far from an Hermes boutique, so it worked out perfectly for me. It's my crown jewel in my collection right now:) I think it's a very underrated and underappreciated bag.

I really like your content. I too have a business background (risk mgmt). I consider all factors you mentioned. I noticed so many people paying over retail. But, I just can't either. Regarding resale certain Hermes has the best value retention. My vintage pieces mostly go to TRR. Everything else goes to Rebag or FP. Recently, Rebag buyout offer is better than FP. I get most of my pieces through eBay worldwide (filter). I use the currency conversion factor too with no foreign transaction card (only used for transaction purposes only). It even makes sense to pay duties at times. It amazing that I can utilize the bag and still make profit when I sell.

Great video! What about the Lindy? Probably like the Bolide. Larger sizes more likely below retail.

Yes! Your comment made me check on fashionphile for Lindys and I ran across that they are currently having another 10% off sale items until 12/9! And there are several Lindys on sale too, so this is an example of a perfect time to buy these bags!
