    I’ve been living abroad for more than 2 decades. Your advice is prescient. My advice for new PR immigrants is use the first 3 years to invest in highly sought after skills that will boost your long term income. It might mean going back to university, enrolling in some course etc. It doesn’t matter what you studied or did back home. Survival in western economies is about always reinventing yourself through upskilling.
    Your education and work w perform back home is what gets you into Canada. Gaining further skills and education in Canada is what will help you thrive

    Thank you for this video. Most of our naija friends do not understand that as much as we earn in dollars, we spend in dollars because our bills are in dollars. It's not easy, walahi. The more money you have sef, the more bills you pay.

    I don't know about car insurance in Canada, but in the uk, it is recommended that you do not stick to the same insurance company all the time. You are advised to do a market survey via a comparison website and then either ask your present insurers to match the price you see or you move to another insurers. It usually never pays to stick to the same insurance companies for too long. They tend to take advantage of their existing customers.

    Thanks as always Neze. One way you can have fun without spending so much especially during the summer is to cook at home put drinks in a cooler and go to the park with your family for a picnic. I went for a BBQ yesterday in a very large park somewhere in Ontario and I saw soo many families doing that. In addition you can also explore paying in instalments when you buy furniture, electronics etc to help manage your expenses. God you dearest Neze. Always delighted to listen to you. Thank you for letting our folks back home know life is not as easy as they think. Hope you visit Ontario someday and plan a meet up with your subscribers

    I used to live in the USA before moving to Canada. I noticed that clothes are cheaper int he USA, so you might consider making a trip to the USA to purchase clothes.

    • @novellprice132
      @novellprice132 21 วันที่ผ่านมา +3

      Agreed with you in that clothes are much cheaper in the United States than in Canada. I think because United States have a more bigger market in regards to clothes, and because the United States dollar 💵 has more value than the Canadian dollar. Peace 🕊️.

      I’m happy to see you have lived in USA please what is difference in housing costs between USA and Canada

    • @franciscaepale
      @franciscaepale 18 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@Emma_forever21 housing cost in the USA is much cheaper. One reason is that the population in the USA is more than 300 million while Canada only has 38.93 million people!

    • @novellprice132
      @novellprice132 18 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@franciscaepale Agreed in that when there is Less Supply, then the value of that specific product or service increases in value due to the High Demand of that same specific product or service. It is Economics. Less Supply, More Demand always leads to increase in cost (Inflation). While More Supply, Less Demand always leads to decrease in cost (Deflation). Peace.

    • @gracenight5348
      @gracenight5348 18 วันที่ผ่านมา

      It all has to do with the dollar equivalent, as mentioned earlier. The dollars are not the same. Hence things being cheaper in the USA vs. Canada.

    Canada lifestyles are more expensive than the US. Reason being that US economy is more open to entrepreneurial ventures. Some expenses mentioned are not a necessity. I.e Subscriptions , cleanings, Car is a must .car financing , insurance, oil change. Then accommodation. You can reduce your cost of car maintenance by merging your car insurance and home insurance. Then gift major store membership cards and collect point and redeem that when necessary. A Costco card is necessity. As a first car, get a hail fairly impacted car and low mileage. They are cheaper for a first car.
