Also, A bit late but Placebo effect ALSO gives you potion sickness, a learned this the hard way when I made my teammate vommit mid fight by accidentally drinking two potions
Bruh rouge was not more tame AT ALL, maybe now it is, but not in it's prime at least. It was WAY worse than deepwoken in terms of fear/rage factor. Back in the day it was way harder to progress, I guess having somebody with gate n stuff to boost you would help, but gate was like SUPER rare back then and most people would not have it unless you were in an élite house. It took most people like 10+ hours to get first ultras back then(depending on what ultra, can take way longer to max), and probably had a bunch of lives before that got wiped to reach that point, also to even unlock the movement options to get around you needed TWO HOURS and a bunch of training. I'm sure getting boosted by a bunch of pros with gate and stuff could speed things up, but back then these things were SUPER rare, I had over 500 hours in rouge, NEVER found a any high tier artifact and only found ONE god spell, because the rates were so small back then. Vast majority of players wont have access to that kinda level of boosting and will need to progress slowly and carefully, acting like the 4 min ultra is anywhere even close to the norm is crazy, plus that was probably for a super easy ultra. In deepwoken exp is such a big part(the only part), so ofc its harder when getting boosted, but for the average player who does not get boosted, rouge is way harder. Imagine needing to kill 60 people, and only allowed to lose 2 of those fights, not to mention the people that will be hunting you, or the environment. Comparing the times it takes a modern rouge player who gets boosted to oblivion going the easiest ultra class and making a trash speedrun lvl 20 slot is not a good metric for how hard it is to progress in a game. Thats not even mentioning how like everyone in rouge was essentially a voidwalker, and how much harder it was to get lives back, like in deepwoken u get ur lives back EVERY LEVEL, and even if you go to the depths, if your careful u can get out fine vast majority of the time if you know what you are doing. Imagine if in deepwoken you had 3 lives total and 1/2 the people you meet will be voidwalkers. In rouge it was normal for people to legit just log as soon as they ran into someone as dying even once was a massive deal for most players. Point being, acting like rouge was more tame is WILD. I guess have not played in a while, started to go a bit down after khei, but peak rouge was on a different level than deepwoken. Also they do this, not just for the money, otherwise they would let you last wind as much as you want, they make it this way because they wanted to give the game an aura of real fear, it worked well in peak rouge because it was extreme, deepwoken is a bit weird cuz it's kinda in the middle.
I just spent 3 minutes and 20 seconds watching a video about alchemy knowing damn well I’ve been using alchemy for a year and a half. Still is a pretty cool video though.
