Shabriri’s Chosen consists of: The Soul of Cinder’s running animation, some of his curved sword attacks, some of the Pontiff Knight’s curved sword running attacks, the kick combo (maybe from Sekiro, or the Hero of Zamor?) the Soul of Cinders fireball attack (when he launches the frenzy-spiral projectile) and some standard, player-like moves, and possibly the frenzied yellow NPC frenzy attacks. Also, he looks kinda like a frenzy-burnt Onyx Lord-Sekiro monk kinda thing.

Would be cool if there was a spell to convert the player's frenzy buildup % into a temporary fire damage buff. Like if their resistance to frenzy is low, they can build their own meter up faster with frenzy spells but if they go too far, they risk just damaging themselves instead of getting the most out of the buff spell. And conversely, if their resist to it is high then they can use a lot of spells to get it as close to 100% as possible without triggering it, getting the most fire bang for their buck. Would fit the frenzy theme is all I'm sayin'
I hope excellent Convergence mod will eventually make Shabriri himself a boss. Either to seal the body snatcher away for good, or to usurp his place as the most reviled man in the world. There are many movesets available to portray Shabriri's "true" form, either as humanoid possessing more monstrous influence. But I think Demon of Hatred/Guardian Ape inspired burning monstrosity with yellow flames would be most fitting, as Shabriri calls himself "a Chaos Incarnate". And I cannot think more chaotic of a moveset. Guardian Ape even carries around its own head, which would be fitting if Shabriri was indeed subject to heavy punishment. There are opportunities for many such lore figure boss fights. Ranni's mentor, Snow-Crone Renna, using Shichimen Warrior's moveset. Malenia's mentor, Marais, the Blind Swordsman, using animations from Genichiro and Okami warriors and more fluid swordsman type enemies. Perhaps safeguarding the ultimate power of Rot God. And of course, Dancer of Boreal Valley as the "blue fairy" that may assist Marais during the fight.
I thought design wise and visually this new boss was stunning and super well done. However I thought the fight experience was underwhelming.... partly because convergence gave us godskin mommy which is probably like the second best boss in the entire game now, IMHO. Its def the crowning jewel of the mod (also IMHO).
People give too much praise to these bosses just because they were made by mod community. I love the mod too, but still. She's mechanically wise slightly better than godskin duo maybe. The same input reading, almost no punishable attacks especially in second phase. You are rolling around five times more than you have an opportunity to land an attack, this is not fun to me. Dakk and Sigur are the only new bosses I have no complaints to.
There is not a single worthy boss of the Madness Flame faction in the main game, which is very strange considering how much attention is paid to the Shabriri storyline. Maybe DLC And now I see how strange these fights look without music.

Honest opinion... Cool Design, love the area, did not like this boss mechanically at all. The problem is that most Elden Ring Bosses have some moment in there kit where you have an opening to counter attack. To land some hits or chug some healing or, cast a spell. The problem i have with this boss really boils down to how agressive it is and how few openings you get to do anything. You spend 90% of this fight rolling around, or running away from him trying to create space to cast a spell or chug an estus. they need to tone down his charging rushing bullshit especially in phase 2... we need a chance to actually ATTACK him and do damage which currently he doesn't really have... plus his movement speed needs to be brought down a smidge... as he can just out run you... i've had so many cases of running away from something and he just twirls at me and murders me while im in full sprint... also i've had several instances of him attacking me and just hitting me despite having my shield raised. No he didn't chip through my shield--- it just acted like i had no shield raised at all. Very odd... Loving convergence...but as of now i still dont understand how to approach this guy... other then rolling around like im on fire...just very annoying... and not all that enjoyable of a boss and as a boss you NEED to kill for a frenzy play through... i don't think he should be this much of a hassle just to get your talisman for casting spells. He just doesn't feel great... im happy others are enjoying him but i personally don't think he's very well balanced. Just my thoughts after a couple hours of trying to take him on early in my run... i guess i'll get other stuff and come back BUT considering this guy is in weeping feels like he should be balanced for this area....and i dunno as of right now? he doesn't feel like it.
Their custom bosses are great, but that is the most annoying thing to fight in the entire game, especially without madness immunity talisman and ranged options, the rain makes it even worse. If something like that was in vanilla everyone would just place it in trash tier on their lists.
it feels like the boss isnt finished his only answare for a heal is that madness laser and even if u heal after an attack his response still is to use that move aside from the randomness of the arena with the lightning how the boss turns 180 if necessary to catch the player on his back when doing the multiple madness shots its kinda like thinking its a cool idea but on paper when u actually have to fight it thge boss is just a fuck it we ball machine
first phase is good, but second has just about no attack windows. the only one I could find that works consistently is after his 3 hit combo with frenzy on his weapon. every other one has follow up attacks that come too fast. i did this fight with an un-upgraded reduvia, so it took a while.
ngl this boss is pretty terrible imo. phase 2 just has virtually no attack windows whatsoever for anything thats not a ranged build and half the time those are still too slow, the madness flames he leaves on the floor can stunlock you resulting in an instant kill, and the rng of the falling madness bolts just means now you have to worry about losing to an unlucky madness bolt landing on your head out of nowhere. cool design but wow this is some ass
True. I have been playing this mod for the first time and had been really enjoying the new expanded areas to Castle Morne. Then I ran into this boss and my mood just soured from it. Midra from the DLC is a million times better than whatever this garbage is supposed to be. I hope the rest of the bosses added by this mod aren't like this. Because if they are, I'm just gonna hop back into playing Elden Ring Reforged instead.

Not the biggest fan of this boss. His second phase is made of many attacks that can only be reliably avoided by running full sprint away, in which case he likes to spam his laser and sprint attack. The few attacks of his that can be consistently dodged require light load dodges anyway. And if his attacks are parryable, which they absolutely should be for a lightweight humanoid boss like this, i can't tell. If he's not, then he needs to be made so immediately. 0/10 otherwise.
From Software is doing a terrible job at capitaizing on their success with this game...its taking far too long from announcing it to drop just one dlc...if they nevr said they would that would be one thing, but they are trying to make additions to a game most people who own it have beaten several times by now...too many companies bank on their "mystique " and their reputation to carry them for these crazy periods of time. But usually the product you wait so long for doesnt even match up or have that much new content to excuse such a wait...they hold on to it for too long past the peak hype and are suprised when the fanfare for its release is lackluster
That's the case for games with regular communities, fromsoft has a cult like following that will actually kill someone for a chance to play their next game and fromsoft knows this and that's why they haven't announced anything because they know no matter what the fans will eat it up even if we have to wait 10 years. Same thing is happening with hollow knight silksong, team cherry knows full well that their community is dying for information about the game but they give nothing because they know they don't need to.
