This is not a sport like any others where you make a name for yourself by just winning. You make a name for yourself by breaking records. It doesn't matter that he's retired, every sprinter WILL be judged or measured by that stick.
People forget that Tebogo and Benny all run in the 100 meter finals with Noah. So running the 100 had nothing to do with his loss. Didn't he do the double in the Last World Championships? We need to accept that just as he won the 100 against the odds,, he could also be beaten in the 200 against the odds. During the US Olympics trials his time was 19.53, AND HE DIDN'T HAVE COVID THEN. So why ascribe his defeat to COVID now if he losses to a guy who run 19.46. Tebogo has been on Noah's tail for sometime now, so it should not come as a surprise if he losses to Tebogo. With the way the 21 year old Tebogo is running, we should not be surprised if he goes under 19.30 sooner or later.

FREESTWINDMAN majority of American athletes are not privileged. There are a lot of foreigners that attend America universities and colleges and received the same training and some received better training than America athletes. So, just because someone is an American doesn't mean that person(s) are privileged.
If African athletes get a quarter of privilege American atheletes get then they would be at the level of competing with USA and Jamaica for medals on a consistent basis. But world records are another matter, they're less dependant on privilege and more on genetics and freakish ability. Just look at the record holders of the 100m and 400m Usain Bolt and Wayde van Niekerk. Jamaican and South African athletes are nowhere near as privileged as American but were still able to produce world record athletes.

There are a lot of foreigners that attend America universities and colleges and received the same training and some received better training than America athletes. So, just because someone is an American doesn't mean that person(s) are privileged.
If African athletes get a quarter of privilege American atheletes get then they would be at the level of competing with USA and Jamaica for medals on a consistent basis. But world records are another matter, they're less dependant on privilege and more on genetics and freakish ability. Just look at the record holders of the 100m and 400m Usain Bolt and Wayde van Niekerk. Jamaican and South African athletes are nowhere near as privileged as American but were still able to produce world record athletes.

I’m happy for Tebogo and I’m proud of Noah. Noah brings excitement to the sport. He talks big but he runs with his heart and does his best , especially on the teams. For the most part , he’s consistent. Noah is one of the US “Go to Guy. There’s a lot of talent in the US but some of them choke when under pressure. Others don’t want the responsibility and hide when it’s time to show and prove. He’s carries a lot on his shoulder. He got the Bronze and still on the podium. He’s worst is still better than most sprinters best.
At this level it is talent, prep, training, coaching, hydration, stretching, diet, warm ups, rest and recovery between events. In other words, everything needs to go right for one to win.
