I remember Lauren saying in an interview that she was so upset to see Heidi at her party she actually got angry with production & left her own party. She said what aired on tv was a “reshoot” I guess it really was fake to a certain extent.
I read the same interview, she said she left the party, probably to another part of the boat, and was arguing with producers for like 30 minutes. She also told producers she wouldn’t be showing up to film for a week so they could “think about what they did”. Lol
That makes her comment of "I don't know what I'm supposed to do.." more real to me. Them choosing to keep Heidi on the show does place Lauren in a very awkward position. Realistically, if Lauren was given actual space and wasn't constantly reminded of Heidi I think she would've been able to move on quicker. Looking back, I don't know why they kept Heidi on the show...🤔

i think the problem was that spencer was playing a role and cameron either forgot or didn't fully understand that. cameron was actively looking to stir the shit and mess with spencer's relationship with heidi, which was genuine, and that crossed the line for spencer and he took that personally. hence his seemingly 'over the top' reaction. this is where the line between reality tv and actual reality _reeeeaaaaally_ started to blur and shit went off the rails.

The WAY I cried when they both cried. BTS Tea: intro with Audrina and Lo at Sweet Lady Jane was filmed LATER after they finished filming the first part of this season. You can tell because Audrina has her Season 5 Part 2 highlights at the bakery and then on the boat it’s the dark brown. (Plus, the tabs took pics of Lo and Audrina at the bakery well after Lauren left) In addition, Cameron sued the pants off of production after being assaulted by Spencer. Not sure how it ended, but I believe there was a settlement.

Also, producers told Cameron that Spencer knows the situation and was in on it too. Turns out, Spencer actually didn’t know and he was actually very upset and the fight was real.

So sad, I definitely think that scene was genuine. After years of hating each other and fighting through the tabloids (and the show becoming a huge success and thriving because of it), I think they finally had a real moment and mourned their friendship and how messed up and bizarre the situation was. They’d gone from being real best friends to huge stars living in this bizarre alternative reality with all these different agendas that ended up tearing them apart.

So I’m sure showing up at orientation, people recognized Lauren because MTV was still huge then lol. (I think Heidi became friends with her for the fame, but that’s just my personal opinion.) But Heidi’s appearances on Laguna were filmed in the summer of 2005, after they had left San Francisco. So they were fully in the public eye by then lol.

i've watched and rewatched this show so many times. season 5 is my favourite and this episode is my favourite episode of the whole series. the moment between lauren and heidi at her birthday always felt really genuine and emotional to me. i loved seeing lauren finally heal a little bit.
Back in the day I read Spencer and Heidi's book... "How to be famous" and there is a chapter named "I did it" or something along those lines where Spencer admits he started the rumor about Lauren... 🤷♀️
I also think 3 years of friendship isn't as long of a time as they're making it seem. Then I remember that they lived together for 2 of those years so maybe they bonded faster.

There's another comment referencing the fact they were in their early 20's when they were bestfriends which heightens everything. Cameron Huston wanted to get into acting, so he possibly thought that was a way in, but their relationship was "real" off camera, he had mentioned that he thought the show was toxic for her, which is obvious; he also knew of her mental health at the time but she chose to stay on rather than quit the show and it was a big part of them breaking up. He also sued MTV for the punch.
I feel like Whitney did an edible during this episode! she's so chilled out (not that she isn't usually, just extra chill) and relaxed. but also I think they were drinking just before they recorded so maybe that too haha
They recorded a double episode so this is only minutes after they filmed the Season 4 finale when they did the drinking game hence why Tim is still drinking and Whit chose to stop, so that's definitely why she's a little tired
I rewatch these reaction video’s just to laugh and have a good time. This show is so good with the iconic lines and Spencer’s red flag behaviour. 🙅🏽♀️

I was watching some clip of Laguna Beach I think it was the second season where Lauren was dating Jason. There’s a fashion show scene and Heidi is in the background. So they were good enough friends for Heidi to be welcomed into her childhood home and be around her childhood friends. I think it’s safe to say that they were real friends.
I think Lauren was really drunk and got emotional on the boat, they don’t remain close or friends, she begs her to go to the wedding and that’s about it.

Wow, when the show aired in Spain they never showed Spencer punching Cameron, so this the first time I watched that happen and it made me sick. Also, every time I see Lauren and Heidi crying and I look at Lauren’s face, you can see in her eyes she’s like “I still love Heidi but I just can’t be her friend again”. You can’t fake that. OMG the promo for this episode/season 5 was so good! I remember everyone at school was pumped, definitely one of the most anticipated episodes. We don't have good TV like this anymore! Everyone looks awesome in this episode btw. Heidi is at peak Heidi in terms of looks, all the surgery after this definitely wasn't needed. This is when Spencer really started to spiral. I don't believe he was "playing" the bad guy anymore. He was on a one way ticket to crazy town. Seeing Heidi's attempts to talk to a reluctant Lauren over the last few episodes and even up for crashing her birthday, I can so see Heidi deliberately choose to study at the same SF college in a bid to pursue a friendship and ultimately infiltrate herself into Lauren's life.
Stephanie Pratt said on her former podcast that Heidi did 'pursue' Lauren deliberately, she was always fame-hungry. I sort-of believe it. I mean wouldn't Stephanie know as a sister-in-law even though they don't speak now?
While it totally seems like something Heidi would do, wasn't LB airing right when they went off to college? Lauren only did one season in SF, so I couldn't see Heidi having time to choose that college after the show had aired. So I watched one of the 'Spiedi' youtube podcast videos recently, following on from last weeks THNB episode, and Spencer suggested they start watching and reacting to the old Hills series. But Heidi refused because she didn't want to relive all that drama again, espcially after all the drama on the current season of THNB. Maybe that's why she didn't get back to you re coming over to do a reaction video with you. Spencer also gave some bts on how you get paid in reality tv saying if you don't appear on an episode you dont get paid, and said that the Wahlers and the new girl Caroline purposely tried to stop them getting paid by not inviting them to their events which took up most of the episode, and that they believe the Wahlers have created drama with them just to give themselves a storyline. And tbh I kind of believe them, because Ashley was coming hard for Heidi from early on this season.

I think Spencer was legitimately flirting with the bartender (maybe because he thought it'd make him look like a better "bad guy" for the show) and producers told Cameron to go to that bar. They also maybe encouraged Cameron to text Stephanie, but I think from there it's all real. I think Spencer really did get upset and punch Cameron because he's a psycho.

i've watched and rewatched this show so many times. season 5 is my favourite and this episode is my favourite episode of the whole series. the moment between lauren and heidi at her birthday always felt really genuine and emotional to me. i loved seeing lauren finally heal a little bit.

I was watching some clip of Laguna Beach I think it was the second season where Lauren was dating Jason. There’s a fashion show scene and Heidi is in the background. So they were good enough friends for Heidi to be welcomed into her childhood home and be around her childhood friends. I think it’s safe to say that they were real friends.
I think Lauren was really drunk and got emotional on the boat, they don’t remain close or friends, she begs her to go to the wedding and that’s about it.

Wow, when the show aired in Spain they never showed Spencer punching Cameron, so this the first time I watched that happen and it made me sick. Also, every time I see Lauren and Heidi crying and I look at Lauren’s face, you can see in her eyes she’s like “I still love Heidi but I just can’t be her friend again”. You can’t fake that. Everyone looks awesome in this episode btw. Heidi is at peak Heidi in terms of looks, all the surgery after this definitely wasn't needed. This is when Spencer really started to spiral. I don't believe he was "playing" the bad guy anymore. He was on a one way ticket to crazy town. The song playing in the background during that fight scene was not fitting at all 😂

Seeing Heidi's attempts to talk to a reluctant Lauren over the last few episodes and even up for crashing her birthday, I can so see Heidi deliberately choose to study at the same SF college in a bid to pursue a friendship and ultimately infiltrate herself into Lauren's life.
Stephanie Pratt said on her former podcast that Heidi did 'pursue' Lauren deliberately, she was always fame-hungry. I sort-of believe it. I mean wouldn't Stephanie know as a sister-in-law even though they don't speak now?

While it totally seems like something Heidi would do, wasn't LB airing right when they went off to college? Lauren only did one season in SF, so I couldn't see Heidi having time to choose that college after the show had aired. So I watched one of the 'Spiedi' youtube podcast videos recently, following on from last weeks THNB episode, and Spencer suggested they start watching and reacting to the old Hills series. But Heidi refused because she didn't want to relive all that drama again, espcially after all the drama on the current season of THNB. Maybe that's why she didn't get back to you re coming over to do a reaction video with you. Spencer also gave some bts on how you get paid in reality tv saying if you don't appear on an episode you dont get paid, and said that the Wahlers and the new girl Caroline purposely tried to stop them getting paid by not inviting them to their events which took up most of the episode, and that they believe the Wahlers have created drama with them just to give themselves a storyline. And tbh I kind of believe them, because Ashley was coming hard for Heidi from early on this season.
