- Directors' Take: This series of interviews shines the spotlight on some of the directors who made their mark in Telugu cinema in recent years. The series is an attempt to discuss how the larger-than-life Telugu films that capture nationwide attention co-exist with refreshing small and medium budget films.
Director Prasanth Varma opens up on his superhero movie Hanu-Man, which is the first film in his superhero series. Prasanth debuted with the multi-genre Awe that fetched two National Film Awards and later, he directed Kalki and Zombie Reddy. In this interview, he discusses why he prefers to make his kind of films rather than wait for stars and the ease with which he shifts between genres.
Interview: Sangeetha Devi Dundoo
Videography: Sivam Media
Production: Johan Sathyadas

This man has brought new kind of cinema to Telugu with Awe. Hope he gives more such quirky movies❤ nice initiative of Hindu, to bring new gen directors to limelight 😊
Rajamouli makes our indian cultural stories with hollywood scenes
But prashanth varma took main concepts from hollywood
I am expecting that hanu-man is completely Indian culture 😊
Such a calm and knowledgeable interviewer she is,i really liked the way she conducted the whole interview 👍
Since the talkies started, the South Indian movies were beautifully depicting Gods, avatars and epics.
Take the example of Sampurna Ramayanam, Mayabazaar, Baktha Prahaladha, Karnan, Dhana Veera soora Karna, Bhaktha Kannappa, Bedara Kannappa, Srinivasa Kalyanam, Lava Kusa, Swamy Aiyappan, Bhaktha Markandeya, Thiruvilaiyadal, Saraswathi Sapathan, and so many which never hurt religious sentiments and were worth watch by audience of all classes and languages and religions.
Lets watch them to make great religious movies.
His first movie "Awe" is a mind bending flick. Once you leave the theatre, the movie will haunt you for days. First of it's kind in Indian cinema.
