2024 paper terrace dollar tree challenge
1. Everyone is welcome to join! The official series will begin March 1st 2024 and end March 25th. But you can play along at your own pace.
2. Create a journal using dollar tree items with a budget of $20 or less. Any type, theme is welcome!
3. Basic supplies and tools are excluded from budget. Scissors, glue, punches, or things you already have that aren’t the main part of your journal. If you are questioning using something jsut go for it. No stress. Have fun.
4. Watch my video series for inspiration but try out some fun techniques and get creative on your own. I will have secret giveaways in some of the videos and the very final video!
5. If you want to share videos or photos, I will add to my own playlist for everyone to watch!

I made my first junk journal from one of your Dollar Tree challenges and I love it! Haven't made one in a while so maybe I will join this one. Wasn't brave enough to keep my video up too long but it was a big step for me to try it. Thanks for all the inspiration! You made me feel like I could do it. And I did.
Dollar tree is always my first stop when I'm looking for crafting items! One of the things I always look at are the fabric placemats. I made my Christmas journal cover with a fabric dollar tree placement and it's beautiful 🥰
I never see fabric placemat in mine 😭I saw many people use them to make awesome projects
So the challenge is to make a jj?what is the time frame? This is my first one. I'm excited
Going DT shopping tomorrow. I am inspired to join this challenge and try some things I have been dying to try. Might even use this journal as an inspiration and sample idea book that I can keep adding too. Thanks for doing this challenge!
A couple of folks I follow are doing the challenge. I thought I’d mention a great DT find I learned from a friend. The word search books are great for having a little word to add to a cluster! And yet another friend, just hand writes all her tags, labels, numbers and even quotes. (My handwriting is atrocious so, I’d do it for a family member so they have the keepsake, but not something I’d sell! Ha ha ). Love the idea of this challenge. I’ll be watching all the videos!

Good morning, Jessica. Wow, I can tell the district manager hasn't visited that store in awhile. The DM of the stores I frequent would have a heart attack. LOL
I still have a kit box in the warehouse of a journal I began on your last challenge. I don't think your daughter was even conceived then! I'll pull the box this morning and see what I might want to add before I run errands next week. Since my word of the year is FINISH, this is the perfect time to wrap up a previous project. Hahah yeah I live near some nicer locations with better selection but this was a newer location so I was kind of surprised to see it so messy
Dollar Trees are so messy because people are awful! Don't put things back when they look at them,don't teach their kids to either.Sad!! And the stores do not hire enough help! Ok,rant over! Just found your channel, ❤

I just coffee dyed those little white tags a few days ago. They are a little waxy/glossy so they did look like it would not absorb. It did work, but they bubble if you leave them in too long. I just pressed bubbles out with my fingers. I layed them in a single layer on parchment lined cookie sheets to dry. Worked well and now I have a basket of them to use. I used my left over coffee and dyed 2 packs. I may dye more packs with other dyes.
I have never participated in a challenge but I've decided to join this one. I found some good things today at my $1 Tree. Thanks

I am brand new to junk journals but this sounds like fun! I'm going to shop my stash and get some dollar tree supplies and join the challenge.

I have recently discovered homemade gesso... it will take the shine off any gift bags you want to use.
This is an intriguing challenge. I don't usually do these sorts of challenges since i don't makes videos or do anything on Instagram, but i might challenge myself to play along on this one just for fun! It would stretch me since this is not how i usually tackle a journal project. I look forward to seeing what choices you ended up making.
Yup the book section at my Dollar Trees look about the same, messy. I wish the stores could staff them better so they can be neater and boxes unpacked timely
I think they are probably just very under staffed from being under paid but it is messy for sure

Hey Jessica, I am going to join in! It will be fun to add the videos on my channel too. Quick question on your challenge- are you limited to the stickers and embellishments that you buy or create from your DT products or can you add from your stash?

I’m super relaxed, so I say that should be fine. I mostly wanted to have people try and use majority dollar tree items but a few extra stash items are ok with me:) I’m not much of a rule holder hahaha

Our Dollar Tree is pretty small, so there isn't a big selection, but I'm going to do the challenge anyway!🤗 I will just have to get very creative!

Hello there! I am a new subscriber. I heard about your channel from Cindy A Lewis. I am not able to participate in this challenge right now, but it sounds like so much fun! I may have to challenge myself down the road to do a DT journal. I already have a lot of items from there that I have accumulated through the years. Correct, Oregon doesn’t actually pay sales tax so I forgot to mention that but I did the math and it’s about 16 items from dollar tree. So it’s fine if you go over slightly due to tax. Just have fun!
When we talk about dollar tree shops, does it mean that all the items are only one dollar or maybe there are different prices , please let me know because I think they don,t exist here in Spain . Thank you¡¡
That’s correct or how the store started out but actually most items are now $1.25 so you could join along if you have a low cost shop similiar!
