  • A playthrough of four "episodes" of Ubisoft's 2010 game show game for the Nintendo Wii, Hollywood Squares.
    All of the shows that I play here star Brad Garrett in the center. The video was recorded from a Wii U using the HDMI connection routed through an XCapture-1 card.

    No cheats were used during the recording of this video.

    My oldest son used to watch the show from all three eras (Marshall, Davidson and Bergeron); the Marshall version lasted from 1966-81, the Davidson version from 1986-89 and the Bergeron version from 1998-2004. My son used to watch the Davidson version in syndication and on USA (where it aired game shows from 1984-95) and the Bergeron version for 6 years before the syndicated Marshall episodes showed up on GSN. This year marks the 50th anniversary of The Hollywood Squares, and of all the three hosts, Peter Marshall will always be, in the words of the late Kenny Williams, "The master of The Hollywood Squares!"

    This is Wii replica of the Tom Bergeron syndicated versjon from 1998-2004. I know this because that’s Tom’s voice and it uses the 2002-2004 logo where it has the show title in Algebra form H2 at the top and the name spelled out at the bottom

    11:21, That question doesn't really have an absolute answer. Yes, the Simpsons do live on 742 Evergreen Terrace... most of the time, but however, the number has changed a few times. In other episodes, it's been 94, 555, 723, and 1094. Also in one episode, their address was 430 Spalding Way.

    I actually like this game. Has its ups and downs, but it's a pretty solid game and pretty faithful to the game show, Hollywood Squares. I like how they used the Bergeron version from 2002.

    Too bad it didn't have that cool "alien abduction" musical cue heard right before the bonus round from 2002 to 2004

    I'm kind of surprised they only used Brad Garrett's videos for this game. They couldn't secure the rights to *all* the celebs they cast on the show?

      There is more than just him in the game, but I didn't play the whole career mode to get the others

    I played this game a lot, in my day, as well as learn unique facts about certain questions on here, and laugh with the celebrities, who made unique and funny remarks or jokes, upon their answers.
    As much as I enjoyed it, I did find the whole game very upsetting, for not giving Whoopi Goldberg- my favorite Center Square personality, Caroline Rhea, Bruce Vilanch, and Gilbert Gottfried (Rest in Peace, YOU FOOL!) any credit, to be on here, since they’ve been on the show a handful of times, during the first couple years of the Bergeron run.

    It'd be hilarious if we had Joan Rivers like I remember as a kid, but instead we get Brad Garrett. The game is fun - but that audience? Seriously? Brad isn't funny, but they hyper rofl every time he opens his mouth. I don't get it.

    • @danalong1237
      @danalong1237 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Garrett and the late Rivers weren't the only center square occupants; other stars such as John Byner, Wayland & Madame, Bronson Pinchot, Jim J. Bullock, Whoopi Goldberg, Martin Mull and Gilbert Gottfried also occupied the center square, but the best-known of all the center square occupants is none other than the late Paul Lynde, best known for giving many one-liners after Peter Marshall asked him many questions. God Bless Mr. Lynde, and I'll blow your HEAVY face off!!!! (Laughter)

    • @danalong1237
      @danalong1237 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I remember them too, and Byner, Rivers and Lynde; Lynde was always the one giving hilarious one-liners to every question original host Marshall asked them.

      They probably barely had enough budget for Brad Garrett, Martin Mull, Kathy Griffin and Jeffrey Tambor. Was Joan Rivers ever the center square on this version? I can't remember.

      GILBERT WAS ONCE A CENTER SQUARE?!?!?!?!
      Also, no, supremetaco, because she'd appeared a bit too infrequently

    Make a hack of the Wii game using the 1986-1989 John Davidson format.

      Or the 1966-1981 Peter Marshall format, in its 1971-80 Syndicated version.

    NES version of this game had more charm. the contestants had funny answers. Here it feels like the lightheartedness is removed and replaced with cold pressure.

    15:44 Oh, you were so close, but it was the other key you should've picked!💔

  • @danalong1237
    @danalong1237 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    32:10-32:21, the closing to the show:
    “Alex, come on down here! Seeing as this is your final day on the show, we’re gonna eliminate five wrong keys. And you captured two, or should I say, three stars successfully, so that counts as two wrong keys, so let’s eliminate them right now! Now, Alex, take that one key and open the trunk... (drumroll) ...because you have just won... (“World Power” by Simon Haseley plays) ...$100,000!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YOU HAVE DONE IT!!!!!!!! YOU WIN IT ALL!!!!!!!!!!! YOU CONQUERED ALL FIVE TRIPS SUCCESSFULLY, AND YOU, ALEX FLORENTINE, ARE LEAVING US WITH A BIG GRAND TOTAL OF $189,500!!!!!!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!! I’M SO PROUD OF YOU!!!!!!!!! ALEX IS LEAVING THE SHOW A PROUD CHAMPION, AND NEXT TIME, WE WILL HAVE TWO NEW CONTESTANTS, AND, MAYBE, SOMEBODY MIGHT WIN $100,000!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SO ON BEHALF OF ALL OF ALL OUR STARS, I’M TOM BERGERON AND WE’LL SEE YOU THEN ON HOLLYWOOD SQUARES!!!!! BYE-BYE EVERYBODY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”-Tom Bergeron.
    “This is Jeffrey Tambor, the voice of Hollywood Squares, saying so long! Promotional consideration paid for by the following: (insert fee plugs).”-Jeffrey Tambor.
    (Closing credits roll)
    “And so, Alex retired undefeated as a five-time champion, winning all five bonus rounds, winning all five grand prizes and accumulating over $180,000 in cash and prizes. And this episode of Hollywood Squares ended in grand fashion indeed.”-Scott Graham, manning Jeffrey Tambor’s position in the announcer’s booth.
    (Nita Strauss plays her own rendition of “I Love Hollywood,” composed by Jennifer Mauldaur and Paul Weinberg)
    (Cue closing logos)
