After my divorce and moving into a new house, the first home improvement I did was hammering a nail into my bathroom wall so I could hang my hairdryer. I didn't have to ask permission, etc. That one very small act was very empowering. I still think about it 24 years later.

This may sound Nana, but anyone else doing overhead type of work, get a foam chiropractic neck brace and spin it around. It will support the weight of the back of your head and give relief to your neck muscles. Promise... really! I loved the human sharing and use of creativity to heal from grief.... of any kind. Thanks. Have contentment and fufillment, all of you.

Sara, I somehow landed on your wardrobe declutter channel and ended up binge watching all the others. You are fabulous. I love your sense of humor, your style, your decorating, and I love how it feels like you're talking to ME, like I'm there with you. It's like finding a new friend. You're so real. I don't susbscribe to any you tube channels but I'm subscribing to yours. Keep the videos coming. Hugs to you and I wish you joy and fulfillment always.

My day got better with a new episode! I laughed and cried at all the right spots. I have overalls envy (yours)…still mourning my overalls purge of 10 years ago. Your ceiling is imperfectly perfect and I was filled with admiration for your diving into such a daunting transformation. I love watching you & your home blossom.

Love this so much! I too have taken on some home projects as a source of claiming space for myself. I moved my home office into a bigger room in our house (formerly the guest room. I know, gasp 😮) and it was interesting to navigate the emotions of taking up more space-even at age 50!

I recently left a stressful and demanding job and am really looking forward to leaning into creative projects again. I missed out on the sourdough craze during the pandemic (essential worker) so have a starter going now. Planning my garden, working on the house, doing some needlework, learning how to use Cricut machine, took a one day painting workshop, and organizing 4 generations of family photos to scan and upload for extended family. Also home cooking is a pleasure again. Thanks for the raw honesty, as well as the uplifting, fun video. Hugs to Fred! ❤

I was married for 25 years and now divorced for 4, these are the best years of my life. It took some getting used to and I threw myself in to home projects, most recently stripping 100 years of paint off the trim of my interior doors/ window, to sand and then stain. It's definitely empowering and I would never want anyone in my home telling me what to do, ever again. Any run-on sentences in there? :) Definitely keep it up, and I love your videos

Soooo with you in feeling the January Sads this year too, sending hugs. I've been diving into crossstitch and starting watercolor as creative amd meditative outlets to help combat amd it's been helping immensely! Also lunchtime walks listening to no media - nothing but the birds singing and jotting down my thoughts after.

Honestly a great question! I originally planned to but then I ended up like the almost lace doily effect of leaving some negative space. It's hard to capture fully in the video but in person it adds to the imperfect, antique look of the whole thing. Which is a relief because when I made the decision I was very nervous that it would be something that drove me crazy haha
