And all those solar panels? Wind farms? Hydroelectric dams? All of those need crude oil to be built in the first place. And they need to be maintained with it.
And your electric cars? They require crude oil to be manufactured. And oil is used to power the electric stations which are used to charge them. And oil will be used to put them in a landfill when the batteries for them die off. Get real.

The ancestors of these Russians came there earlier than most Canadians came to Canada. The Baltic states used to be under Russia and Russia could Russify them, as you are doing now in Canada with different nations that come to Canada. In some of these places, Russians have lived for more than a thousand years. The Baltic nations under the Russians had their own government and education and even their own army called the Territorial Defense. If the Russians could show so much civility towards them in the last century, in the age of computers, everyone would expect the Baltic nations to be at least as civilized as the Russians were in the last century. Getting rid of NATO and demilitarizing are two different things. You need an army, and it should be the toughest one you can muster. You need alliances. You should have as many as possible provided they are predicated on peace. NATO however, is different. It has become an offensive alliance with a longterm strategy of expansion and growth. Let me ask you a question - suppose the dangers from Russia and China disappeared overnight. Would NATO disappear too? If not, then we might have a bigger problem on our hands.

    • @alexanderdonkinson6619

He probably meant that in the past 60 years, two regional powers or superpowers never went to war together. The only wars that occurred were proxy wars or wars between third world nations. Those 100 million deaths came from 60 years of mini wars. WW2 accrued half of that number in six years. If we replaced all those mini wars with wars between regional or super powers, the number of deaths would skyrocket. The last 60 years were actually the most peaceful since most of Europe, Russia, America, and Eastern Asia hasn’t had a major war yet.
