I'm just starting my journey learning this beautiful language. It's amazing how hard it is to find Luxembourgish learning material. It's so nice to read comments here of descendants of Luxembourgish immigrants and how they want to learn. Don't let the language disappear. Keep the language alive and strong! :)

My cousins and uncle were Luxembourgish and they sometimes mix their english with this language so it's kinda hard to understand at times. It's time for me to learn their language. It looks fun and i kinda know some of it

Very unique and lovely language. Wouldn't understand it if I spoke German. Unfortunately, it is endangered nowadays, and the natives must do their best to preserve it for future generations! Good luck Anne!

I had never heard Luxembourgish. It feels like some sort of cross between French and maybe someting like German. I know I'm part Luxembourgish, but still learning about my ancestors, such as Jacquetta of Luxembourg, my 18th ggm. I'm reading about her right now in the book Royal Witches. It's exciting to be able to read so much about one person's life that passed me down some DNA. It does seem pretty easy to pronounce the words, but I've always been good at that. I have at least 38 ethnicities in my readable DNA from all over most of Europe, many places in Asia, some in Africa and I'm also Native American from over 12,500 yrs. ago. You are apparently my cousin, btw.

it sounds like mixing french, latin, german all together, I am planning to come to Luxembourg soon and I am trying to learn the costums and the culture of the country before visiting ... and the language is rather interesting (I am also interested in languages)

it is very similar to German but only different in spelling ... it was a great help if one can speak German and it is easy to understand and learn Luxembourgish

I think european languages are quite complicated.. Such as Finnish, polish, hungary, romania, armenia, Georgia.. Its all different!

as a german, it is very easy to learn luxemburgish, in my opinion
Ich komme aus Siegen und es ähnelt sehr unseren Dialekt. Da Siegen auch ein Teil von Nassau Oranje war, hat sich die Sprache vermischt.

I have a question, i have som friends who are moving to Luxemburg next year. They are Spanish speakers, but they also speak smome German. My question is, is it worth for them to learn German (Hochdeutsch) or is the German in Luxemburg very different.?
In Luxembourg we speak beside Luxembourgish as well Hochdeutsch.
