- In "Cubs All Access" we're taking you behind the scenes with players, coaches and more to give you an exclusive look at the biggest stories of the season. The Cubs have welcomed several new players to The Show this season, but one of the most memorable was the night both Brandon Hughes and Christopher Morel made their MLB debuts. Hughes struck out all five batters he faced and Morel crushed a home run in his first at-bat. Go behind the scenes as they get called up, notify their families and take you through their first days in the big leagues.

Awesome to see these young guys starting a HUGE new chapter in their lives. As a mom and grandmother I feel their parents'/grandparents' pride!!' All God's richest blessings to them both!
This is what Cubs baseball is all about. Extending a guy like Willson, who wants to be here and fans love, should also be what Cubs baseball is about.
It SHOULD be but we all know he's as good as gone, just a matter of where and for whom at this point. Sure hope shipping every good player we have the last two seasons is worth it in the long run. Minors are very good now and should improve after shipping Contreras, Happ, Robertson and Givins.

On the eve of some impending departures of our guys to other teams, it's refreshing to look back on Morel's and Hughes' first game. I think back about Willson's and others' first game as a rookies. Before we know it we'll be saying farewell to them, hopefully with one or two additional WS titles. Absolutely love our club.

I'll never forgive Ricketts if he doesn't build around Morel
sure hope so...in the last year we've shipped Rizzo/Bryant/Javy/Kimbrel/Tepera/Chafin and now Willie/Happ/Robertson/Givins will be added to the total. Helluva lot of talent for another rebuild. Just concerned how many more years we have to go through this. Guessing at least 2 with a possbility of 3-4 sadly.
