What a great time to celebrate some of the unsung heroes of health care! Thanks to our amazing laboratory services staff who help to provide great patient care.
This seems more like a strike threat then an awareness video. I work with Canadian lab people and they have some great stores that would make you proud. Show them running carefully to the lab to process a stat blood sample. Show the flashing red light that goes off in the lab when stats are coming. Show them demonstrating some real skills like speed aliquoting or flawlessly fishing a series of wax sample shaving onto slides. Show some heroism. Show a lab tech who knows he saved a life.
That's a great promo video for the core lab. What about letting the public know that 'Pap Screening' as we ( Microscopic Cytologists ) know it, is being phased out and replaced with more expensive HPV Testing.
Show them embracing tech by barcoding and placing a sample on a conveyor system. Show a lab veteran pointing out the difference between a normal and abnormal blood cell. Show an extreme result get flagged and someone quickly calling the doctor upstairs who makes a dramatic treatment change. Don't make a lab look like a boring sweat shop. Lab people have emotions. They do smile and enjoy their work. I have seen it happen.
