Every time I got stressed or anxious, I come back here and calm myself in few minutes. Music, nature, movements, you can't tell what's better. Wish that modern life is very different. I tried to this everyday, to do meditation and some qigong movements the way I best can, but after a few weeks I'm behind with work, maintaining home, groceries... We need constant moving to keep up with the increasing tempo of todays society, and that's just insane.

Everything you do can become a way to cultivate and express your energy. Meditation and Qigong are not seperated from life. Once you start to feel the energies, everything you do is imbibed with energy. Even at my desk job I feel as if typing as an extension of my energy. It includes all activity. If you just keep charging yourself with dedicated, loving practice and eat well, morning and evening, you can carry the life force into everything. You do not need become a monk.

If a martial arts master like Chen style Grandmaster Chen Siao Wang read your comment - he would say you must be on ecstasy pill high if you play taichi like what you commented on. He complained that too many taiji players play like a robot, catatonic kind of motions.... go figure.
Use this music and play slowly your simplified 24 form... you will look calm too! :-)

The music is always added as an after thought for viewers like you. They do not play with music. Actually they despise people playing with music, to these kind of folks.... music is only a distraction. Music comes from within one's soul. You feel calm watching his movements because of the music... Turn off the speaker, and watch his movement.... you will have a different feeling. :-)

How much of Wudang survived the cultural de-evolution, or 'The Great Leap Backward?" I am not discrediting the authenticity of the Wudang school because the Taoist teachings have changed my life in so many extremely positive ways. But I wonder if there are any classics or teachings that have been lost.

      Hello, dear community!
Today I discovered something very interesting. For me, it was somehow clear but I wanted to do it the western way once and confirm it with a DNA test. My ultimate goal was to confirm where I might feel best, regarding food, lifestyle, weather, and so on. Because when our ancestors lived this way then this should be the most healthy way for you right? The way with the least amount of stress to yourself. The results were really clear, I thought my DNA would be more mixed up - but since I have no close relatives there wasn't so much. My ancestor roots can only be tracked from three generations ago - yes that was quite a while ago! Austria is a mixed country where you have all cultures almost - and it is very multicultural. So I am not happy with saying - yes I am Austrian. So let's not talk too much - you read this far to read my test results right? So here it is 70% west European: originating from France, Germany, Austria. - maybe I should study some french now :D. 25% was from Czech and the rest is Finnish.
So my take from this - and here it gets interesting for those who read this:
I always adored french culture and cuisine - I was in France and I liked all that I could eat there - it was like a Dream. I went to Italy a few days apart and did not feel this - even though they are known for good food and everything, but something was off for me. Fact is I knew the results of this DNA test before I took it - and this confirms the following:
If you really feel yourself - like in Taiji - then you already know your origin. The DNA test just confirmed it...
Don't be stupid and trust in what you see on paper - learn yourself - get out there and challenge yourself!
PS: NO unfortunately I am not Chinese D: - but I think that is an advantage! We should make use of what we are and make it an advantage. I know that my culture is very accurate and is very athletic - I am not a Chinese copy - but I am doing my thing with what I have. Today China is my second home and I frequently visit France as a holiday :)
I wish you the very best
      Master Ziji

It turns me off when I see and watch someone claim to be a master(bator) wearing funny costume to distinguish himself from the rest of the world... this is fundamental understanding.
The EGO is the main issue.
If you practice taiji daily and spend time to strengthen your legs power, you can move like him. The surrounding and proper music can add the feeling of being at ease...In Brazil, those players would do taiji bare feet! Imagine that! They believe (being deceived actually) that by doing taiji bare feet, they can absorb the earth energy, they do not even understand how much craps that they step-on and absorb those bacterial air under their feet... delusional. :-)
Loose fitting clothing, good solid shoes, do not wear watch, any ornament that can impede the flowing qi around your body...
that should be enough to do the taiji sets. Do not add the music afterwards if you record your play. Either you play with the music, meaning the melodies will dictate the flow of your movement or play silently - the music is within you already.
Those master(bators) would tell you that the taiji routine should be executed at even pace, cannot be fast and slow unevenly.... hogwash!
They read too much into the taiji books. :-(
it is about what is your goal in learning the taiji routine. To attack people by lying to yourself about for self-defense or for health benefits that you gain without the necessary application skills. Nothing more.
