I love Lowes’s markdown too… but it is dangerous! This year, I scored Monrovia 1.5 gallon red rum lupines for $8.50 each, $4 rosy pink forget-me-nots, and $4 creeping phlox. The Asiatic lilies I got on markdown last year are about to pay dividends… Lowes automatically marks down the lilies as soon as the blooms drop, no matter how healthy they are. Keep your eyes peeled!

My Lowe’s doesn’t have a lot of plants sale. Often Im just going to Walmart, which has pretty nice selection of plants at the great price. I bought last season some plants and I’m very happy with the quality.

I love Lowe's clearance. So far this year I've found one gallon pots of creeping phlox for $4 each (bought 7), a $10 Encore Azalea (bought 3), and Superbena Red for $4 (bought only 3 - the rest looked beyond saving). There was absolutely nothing wrong with the phlox or the azaleas except that they were done blooming. The Superbena just needed some water. I've also seen some perfectly good hydrangeas for half off, but I have no place to put them at the moment so I reluctantly left them behind. I can't wait to keep visiting throughout the season.

If the plant is just underwatered or has just finished blooming and the markdown is about 30 percent or more off the original price, it's a good deal to me!😉🪴🌸🌼

I took advantage of a sale at Brecks to enhance my treeline garden. I got 12 plants for around $65 including the shopping. Now granted, they will be very small potted plants or bare-root plants but still..
Yep, after a heat wave or frost, you’ll always find a good clearance selection. For taller plants that are really dehydrated, I stake them before watering so that when they rehydrate, they aren’t too misshapen. Great info! I got a half price juniper and boxwood today that looked perfect 🤷♀️
In the North Texas panhandle where I live it gets very hot and extremely dry with clay soil. I read once that very few plants can stand full sun in our area. You were very courageous cutting back so much. Lowe’s here has mostly dead crispy plants in there clearance section though I did get a hydrangea for 9 dollars half price that just needed a good drink.
Being in eastern Ontario, Canada, we have had such a bizarre spring. It has been super hot and super cold and we are just recovering from a devastating wind and thunder storm so I have not gone out to get any plants yet. I am anxious to get going. Should be nice this weekend, so fingers crossed. Good haul, Soleil. These plants will look great in your gardens.
I agree...more plants are in the higher tiers this year. I recently learned the Home Depots in the South don't have clearance at all...they say it's because the growers come back and get what hasn't sold instead of letting them mark it down.
Sometimes they struggle here too if they get waterlogged in the clay soil, but in the heat they can struggle and need a little shade in the afternoon. 😉🍀🪴🌹
Howdy from from the Deep South north Alabama 7b. 8a.micro climate areas I have very close friends that live in cedar springs mi I found your gardening channel beautiful yard u have I’m building my landscape we had a late season cold snap in march here I’m still seeing ugly growth comeing out of my canna Lillie’s and banana and few other plants but we been in the mid 90s already this year but we can grow some subtropical plants here like banana elephant ears angels trumpets couple types of palms ect illl kee watching mike Outside huntsville
I have to say I'm a little bit of a plant snob (books too), I like them pretty from the beginning. However, having said that, I do like watching others rehab plants. It really is amazing to see their transformation. Depending on the rain today I may head over to Lowe's and see what they have, even though I don't NEED any more plants. I think I can find a hole or two in a garden somewhere in my yard. (We've had a boatload of wind and rain here and I'm having to rehab some of my own plants, thank goodness I bought a ton of stakes last year.)

Love your bargain plant hauls. I picked up 3 proven winner diamond frost euphorbia from the Lowe’s clearance area a few weeks ago. I got them planted into pots and they look great now. I’m in zone 9b so if I give them a little protection they will be perennial for me. Thanks for sharing.

I struggle with daisies in zone 8a. No matter what I do they end up dying. 😞
