    • @MakerDecor

      Hi, thank you for commenting. I used the brand Behr clear coat for the table top. It was glossy and I applied it 4 times with light sanding in-between to make is smooth. Thank you.

    Can you add opening on the top for containers? And can you do the cuts with jigsaw?

    • @MakerDecor
      @MakerDecor  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, yes you can do the cuts with a jigsaw. You just need to go slow or have something on the side of the jigsaw to help guide the cut straight, similar to the technique used in this video th-cam.com/video/O9_eVUL6MS8/w-d-xo.html Regarding adding an opening, yes that is possible. But I chose to build and create the plans to keep as simple as possible. But I have seen people use the plans and create shelving, doors, etc to the cart. These are just the basic plans and can be adjusted for how they would best fit your need.

    Quality content per usual.. appreciate how you make things supply/builder friendly.. can I ask how much this cost you to make approximately?

    • @MakerDecor
      @MakerDecor  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi thanks for watching and commenting I can give you a quick guestimate as some pieces were bought separately and earlier in preparation to see if it would work, lol. Most was from Home Depot or Lowe's, the most expensive part was probably the wheels. I wanted to get metal wheels instead of plastic. The Wheels were Amazon around $120 ish, sheet of plywood $50 ish, single Wheel $20, other wood $35 ish, Table Top $30 ish. I would say around $250-$275 ish area? BUT it can be a lot cheaper especially if you find wheels from a old childs bike that still look good. Then that drops almost in half! So it can be done for maybe around $150 ish if you have bike wheels or find them at a garage sale. You would need a set of front wheels. I was ok with spending more because of the new quality and under $300 for a nice cart I can rent easily and make my money back quickly or sell and make a profit. Thank for your question hope that helps.

    • @MakerDecor
      @MakerDecor  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@cupcakepeachez Hi I purchased the table top from Lowe's hardware store. It is pine and it was actually for building your own shelving/ cabinet section. Home Depot has them as well. And both have different sizes already cut and ready to use. It worked out great.

    This was awesome...I made a box to use for something totally different before covid...now I was looking for something else to do with it. The wheels where my concern...is that a kit fir the cart?

    • @MakerDecor
      @MakerDecor  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, thank you. The wheels and axel were the hard part to figure out. This is not a kit for a cart. The plans available on the Etsy store include all the sizes, and images of what I used to build the cart including where I purchased all the materials. It has the sizes of the wheels, axel, metal pipe, threaded pipe, washers, bolts, etc. So it really is just the instructions on how to build it. Thank you and good luck!

    • @MakerDecor

    Is there a way to use the inside as storage?

    • @MakerDecor
      @MakerDecor  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, yes it would be easy to change some of the plans to add a door or leave open. I have seen many different versions of this one from doors to the back to a cut open top for cotton candy. I left the plans blank and the box open just to keep it simple. But would be easy to change to what best fits your needs. Thanks for watching!!

  • @cabincrewche5695
    @cabincrewche5695 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Hey, amazing video, just what I’ve been looking for. Do you have any advice on making this a cotton candy cart with a door on the rear to store stock and a shelf inside so I can have the machine lower (I plan to switch out the table top for a cutout to accommodate the bubble of the machine, so the machine is integrated and not on top) really hope in making sense. Thank you

    • @MakerDecor
      @MakerDecor  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi thanks for watching. Yes I know what you are talking about. I went back and fourth on how to make the top and was unsure to incorporate the cutout or not. Even thought about adding a drain sink for drinks and such. There was a lot of different tops for cotton candy or people used for drinks. But I decided to just do the plain top as it would benefit more people and can be easily changed out for other tops I may do later. For the door, I had thought about doing it but decided not to for an easier build for people. But if I was going to add it, I would brace the back with a 2 x 4 or the very least a 1 x 4 top and bottom of the back. This would help stabilize the cart as it gets most of its strength from the box. Then just add a 1 x 2 to the sides to help give space to attach the hinges and the lock or clip to keep the door secure. It really would be an easy change to do and I think it is worth it. Hope this helps and good luck!
