    What I tell people is "Its basically an MT-09 with seventy pounds of toruing and comfort stuff added and a 2" longer swingarm and a bit more fuel range" Then I go on to say "identical frame, engine, wheels, brake rotors and calipers as MT-09"

    Hi Kris, again a very informative and serene video. I have a Ninja 1000sx and before I got it, I watched your videos presenting that particular bike. If you can remember? Is there a significant difference in comfort and performance between both bikes? Kind regards

    If you 188 you need bar risers, lowered pegs and heigher seat than you may be a little more comfortable.

    The bike is pretty light for sport tourer. Pushing it around a parking lot is pretty easy. I guess though, it's all about perspective. My other bike is an FJR1300.

    • @MotoJournoKris
      @MotoJournoKris  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yep all things are relative. I'm more used to little 400 cc machines. Compared to a FJR these are a lightweight though.

    Hi Kris your reviews are a great help. Would you really think it’s as good comfort wise compared to the fjr? I have an fjr and was wondering would this be a good replacement for the fjr.

    • @MotoJournoKris
      @MotoJournoKris  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's a big call. There's not much I've ridden that can match the FJR honestly. With the comfort seat on the bike we tested I thought it was really good for this style of bike. I do think it could replace an FJR if you're keen for something a bit sportier, however there's a definite comfort trade off.

    I found the pegs to be in a weird position. I'm interested to get one, sat on one today and my feet were wide out. I could get them more comfortable if I hooked my legs infront of them but they just feel like they will get in the way

    • @MotoJournoKris
      @MotoJournoKris  ปีที่แล้ว

      The peg position is sportier than a pure tourer for instance.

    I don't know about that seat, it is different than the front-loader seat in the U.S. Looks a good bit nicer.
    Also I may be misunderstanding your commentary but the clutch lever *is* adjustable, and it looks the same in your vid as mine here in States. Can you not spin that little disc clockwise or counter-clockwise to adjust the lever depth?

    • @MotoJournoKris
      @MotoJournoKris  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yea I hadn't realised that the comfort seat wasn't standard on the GT, which is the one fitted there. If you mean the adjuster visible in the video on the perch, that's for adjusting the clutch cable slack. An adjustable lever has adjustment on the lever itself. Trying to find a photo of the lever to confirm though, as it's been a while.

    • @putanious7064
      @putanious7064 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ah got it...that's "the comfort seat". The non-comfort seat is exactly that. Pushes you into the tank, strange strange design for a "touring" bike.
      Thanks for clarifying the clutch lever commentary.

    Hi, My height is 160cm. I wonder if I can drive this engine comfortably? My bike I use now is KTM Duke 390 2017.

    • @MotoJournoKris
      @MotoJournoKris  ปีที่แล้ว

      In the lower of the standard seat heights you should find it similar to the Duke.

    How did you find the “diving goggles” dash?

    • @MotoJournoKris
      @MotoJournoKris  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I thought it was interesting, and worked overall, I just wouldn't have minded being able to customise the way it displays things a little more. There's decent room to do that, but I can see it being even better if you could basically set up the displays entirely how you want.

  • @dougiequick1
    @dougiequick1 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Is it just me or is the "adjustment" on the handlebar risers a total joke? It is BARELY anything! Like an 1/8" inch or something....I just went through the trouble to move them forward hoping to fet mor of my weight over the front and like I say it is REDICULOUSLY nothing! A marketing gimmik I imagine so salesman can say "dont worry its all adjustable" The foot pegs is a little more substantial and actually might keep one from scraping pegs and the seat adjustment is likewise a small amount that could help though in my case I chose lower just to lower mass not for any problem flatfooting

    • @MotoJournoKris
      @MotoJournoKris  ปีที่แล้ว

      It's a tiny bit taller - only 0.15 of an inch, and then a 1/3 of an inch forward from what I understand, which I should probably have mentioned. So nothing major, but it's free adjustment that might help some riders. I guess it just depends on your expectations.

    There is nothing big or heavy about this or any other bike this size. My past touring frame Harleys and current 2018 Wing are large frame heavy bikes. I'm thinking about buying one of these as a playful fun bike compared to my wife taxi Wing. And what's the deal with a hurting butt or the egro's. IT'S A DAMN MOTORCYCLE!!! It's not a Bentley, Big Merc or a First Class Airliner Seat. Seems to be a ton of whimps riding now days....

    • @MotoJournoKris
      @MotoJournoKris  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Well yes, everything is light by comparison to some of the heaviest motorcycles produced.

    • @silotx
      @silotx 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Harleys and goldwings have very low center of gravity so they are much easier to handle than sport touring or adventure bikes.
