The reason why the rides are expensive, it's because of the oil hike. But also, it is not 150 per person. Since you rode together that mean the whole ride is just 100 not per person. It should be 50 each since it's lowered to 100. It's my first time hearing that riding motorcycle with another person should be paid per head.

Actually 100 pesos when you think about it is still cheap. also 150 per person is also cheap. Filipinos at this height of the pandemic understand how the gas are really high now in the philippines so the prices are still acceptable. But then great bargaining skills. thou i think the riders just agree for the sake of few pennies

I agree. Maybe that's why I feel bad for the drivers too. They obviously had a language barrier even when they're speaking the same language.
That part where they approached a local to ask for the fare price and the motorcycle drivers approached them may seem scary, but for the drivers, they approached them because they probably thought that the woman could help them understand/negotiate.
@@mariakarolhernandez9959 I am always in this location when I am in cebu amd those drivers approach almost everyone regarless if local or not. That is where people take motorcycle to temple of lea. It is a common site.
Please Sunny, don't negotiate with drivers that are on standby and in one place. They will ask for more. Because they tend to just wait in one place and take turns with all of the drivers in that specific place.
Instead, negotiate with the drivers that are already on the road. The pressure with the vehicles behind him and his motor is still eating gas, he will negotiate faster. Pressure them with time.
Sorry that you experienced that. But also for us, we experienced it. We tend to ignore it because of pity. Pity from the oil price hike. But some drivers abuse this.

Truth
they can also use the riding apps like Angkas, Joyride or Maxim. They don't need to negotiate for that since the fare matrix is standard for each application. These are more legitimate than those drivers on standby.
As a local living in lahug Cebu, that's also the price they provided, 150per head back& forth everytime we went to visit tourist spots in busay , even way before pandemic. We don't mind at all. But if your in a group, it's better to rent a van

Hello, actually I'm from Cebu, that's really the local prize 150 or a bit less going to top of cebu in any motorcycles, since patrol increased last July 1st so no blame why drivers ask for a bit expensive, is not easy to drive under the heat of the sun too. But still thank you for travelling here in my country. ❤

In most SEA countries, haggling is the key. Just keep negotiating! LOL But please, make sure to do it in a polite and friendly manner. If more than 3 drivers tell you the initial price, go for it. Even locals negotiate, but asking for a lower price than the initial price is already too much. Try to understand that we're all affected by the pandemic. Thank you!
I hope you can visit other places outside Cebu, too. There are much more to see and experience if you'd also go to the north going south. I bet you'll be shocked how diverse the Philippines is when it comes to culture, language, traditions, perspectives and even social norms.
Hi sunny, dont be shy to ask the locals about the normal fare. I know you want to make a bargain. Please understand that their are also local doing work for a living. Please stick with the normal price for the locals. Gas prices nowadays are high. They are barely keeping up and earn what is just. Please continue to be kind. And it will definitely come back to you.

I think as a local 150pesos for a round trip is cheap, because the gas price went up and if you'd try to compare how far 150pesos will bring you on a private vehicle here in Manila, trust me you won't go far. If you guys want to budget your travel you should try the jeepney the price range of a jeepney here is around 11-50pesos but it's a one way trip, so you should ask for locals on what direction of a jeepney is going so you won't lost. The only difference of the jeepney and private vehicles (motorcycle, tricycle) is that private vehicles will bring you on your exact/specific lcoation you want.
I remember i commented you should visit or go to a local house, to see their culture or experience a typical Filipino hospitality, and yes, this is it!!!! I love your vlog kuya sunny!!!!

I think the price for entrance is reasonable. It’s the minimum for entrance fees, it’s usually 50-150 pesos. For fares, we are currently having a high inflation rate right now that’s why vehicle expenses are quite expensive. That’s why some riders offer high price and it’s the usual price when you book using an app. But be careful to some because they will took advantage of foreign people.

I wished you had a chance to visit the northern Luzon, the mountainous part of the Philippines. Currently living at Benguet, the weather is cold here and most tourists spots are mountains, forests, waterfalls and caves. Well I hope you enjoyed your trip in Cebu. I'm a Filipino but haven't been there yet. I think its worth a try to visit despite of the struggles in commuting especially with the hot weather😅

The good thing about the Philippines is that the prices of tourist destinations are just equal for both local and foreign tourists unlike Thailand where there is a foreign tourist price which is two times higher than the local price...

You haven't been to Northern Luzon where it has beautiful mountains and cold weather. Baguio City is a good place to start. And hope you could visit Batanes too.
