      the filler looks like it's soft though, so shouldn't be an issue. Filling with concrete would be more of a problem.

    Epoxy + grout mix or Sikaflex would have been perfect, it needs to be elastic enough to not crack/shrink in cold but hard enough to have durability. To ensure a actually proper bond it would be good to wash the crack (lol) or clean with compressed air, not only brush. Expansion joints should only be filled with flexible material like silicone filler. Also since it's an expansion joint and the bondo is attached to all that dirt, the expanding concrete would pop it right out, no damage will occur to anything as the alarmist say, i work in the constructions industry and if bondo could keep concrete from expanding to the point it's going to crack its self, we would have known it and would probably use it to bondo over collumns needing reinforcing instead of Gunite.

    Those are there for a reason ...so during summer the road expands little bit which will cause the road to crack soon but if theres a space like this then it wouldnt

  • @rolls_8798

    truly the most permanent fix.
    also, that's a quasi-expansion slot, it is there for a reason and would possibly also make a difference in the rain, I don't think it's that big of deal though
    surely you could find cheaper (and infinitely better) alternatives than body filler though? Like even straight up clay

  • @hitchiker7185
    @hitchiker7185 ปีที่แล้ว

    It'll crack eventually. The reason for expansion joints is because the concrete slabs move over temp fluctuations. Cutting out the old caulk and putting new backer rod and a very dense caulk will work best. The caulk is dense enough to handle skate wheels and still soft enough to allow the slabs to move without cracking. You can't use have to use expansion joint caulk though the best stuff is the kind you mix in a bucket then fill a caulk gun.
