Man, this showed me so much and made me realize I was editing the hard way. I had no idea about the dissolve feature so I was dipping to black using keyframes and transparency levels. Yeah, it's more precise but it's a pain in the ass too. Thank you so much for this tutorial. I'm definitely going to check out your other stuff.

Hope you updated this ,@ 4:22 isnt a marker its a scrubber, you'll confuse people a marker is used to " mark" places in the timeline ( marker icon looks like a Baseball field "Home Plate")its where the "snap "( magnet) tool is just below the yellow timecode numbers in the Timeline section.

New user here with a suggestion to an otherwise very good tutorial... Some of the details that you suggest the user ignore may actually be important to those of us that that belong to a local organization and have to use the software on shared terminals. Who knows what the previous user did with the software settings.
