    WWWWOOOOWWW I want to cry. Thought I could just play some music for myself… but after listening to you play… who knew just playing to show off the instrument could be so gorgeous and inspiring!
    Is this price range pointless for starting? I honestly just want one instrument to learn and use… is 5 string that much harder?

    Very well done and very helpful! I'd be interested in knowing what type of strings are on each violin - are they all the same sets, ie: D'Addario NS 310 electric?

    • @ElectricViolinShop
      @ElectricViolinShop  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      No. Each one is different. The YEV uses Zyex strings, for instance. NS uses NS Design strings (made by D'Addario).

    Which amp and processor you using for yev version?

  • @chriskelly9653

    Is there room to move the bridge on the YEV so that you are able to make the distance from the nut to the bridge 330 mm’s . I tried this violin at a store and liked it but the difference between my acoustic violin and this one was 5mm’s and I would like to have them both the same so that I wouldn’t have to move my fingers to get the same notes on the neck of the electric violin.

    Which sound more acoustic Yamaha YEV 104 or Gewa Novita ?

      Only your ears can answer that question. We demonstrate both in the video.

    I've noticed that you don't have any Fender electric violins? They sound great and they are very inexpensive. I have a slightly used one that is White enamel. Hopefully they still make them!

      We have not been impressed with Fender violins when compared to the other instruments we carry.

    I had a WAV 4 a few years ago and it was eating through packs of strings. I use to put dominants on it and NS Design's tuning mechanism kept snapping those strings. was there something potentially wrong with the WAV 4 I had or was it just a bad violin to string combination?

    • @jameskrys5286
      @jameskrys5286 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have one and use D'Addario strings they make for the NS violins and they work fine.

      @@jameskrys5286 thanks man! i ended up switching to the YEV but whenever I see an NS design it makes me wish I bothered to try different strings first

    Which one is the quietest of the instuments? I bought a very cheep electric violin so i could practice when the kids are in bed, but it is still too loud. Do they differ in loudness when NOT pluged in?

    • @ElectricViolinShop
      @ElectricViolinShop  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      They differ somewhat, based on the density of the body. If there's any resonating space inside the instrument it will produce more sound. The more solid, more dense, the less sound it will produce. That said, while solid body violins do produce some sound in the room, it's not the kind of sound that carries well or penetrates walls, so check whether others can hear you from other rooms with your door closed. It should be pretty faint, if audible at all.

      They used to call the Yamahas "The Yamaha Silent Violin" for what that's worth.

    • @ElectricViolinShop
      @ElectricViolinShop  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@jameskrys5286 That was a stroke of marketing genius. A lot of people have bought into the concept that Yamahas are somehow MORE silent than other violins. Any two solid-body instruments (with no resonating chamber) will generate about the same volume. A Jordan violin and a Stratton violin and a Yamaha violin will all be about the same volume unplugged.
