@@johnward384 thank you and good luck to you as well, I hope you can go up automatically so we can avoid each other in the playoffs if we make them. 😂😂😂
I'm a Rochdale Fan and came over for this game.....really wanted a draw but thought Halifax were excellent most of the game but started to tire 2nd half and knew what was coming. Halifax had held Rochdale well on the Tuesday before but again looked worn out and Dale won eventually though we were really lucky. Need to sort out some proper game management to see out games when winning. Rough justice boys.
@@ohdearnotagain2725 yeah they certainly looked tired, that and some substitutions didn’t seem to steady the ship for us, the weird thing is we played fairly poor against Woking than we did against You or York, and yet managed to get the three points, really can’t predict this team at the moment, a lot of potential, decent players and had a better start this year than the last two years, but there’s a huge lack of consistency and always burning out before the final whistle blows, can only hope for the best tomorrow vs Yeovil Town, big game that.
I'm a derby fan and 3 of us came up from derby as neutral observers and first ever visit to the shay . We were on the same end as you but at the front behind the goal. We thought halifax were the better side on the day and unlucky not to get the 3pts . We were in the three pidgeons pub before the game and union cross pub in town . Enjoyed the day out and game. We are talking about coming up again at some point
@@leonorme2926 please do! You’re more than welcome, Love to see more people at The Shay, (although that applies more for people from the town supporting the local team), hope you enjoyed the match more than we did! still a hard result to take but an entertaining match nonetheless.
Good video and a fair assessment. Really interesting to see from the home end. From the away terrace it seemed like we were singing for 90mins, and the home support was almost silent, but your video proves otherwise, as you can't hear the away support much, and the home fans are clearly making noise. Acoustics are weird. Town should have wrapped that up in the 2nd half. Those chances went begging, and your forwards just seemed to shoot right at our keeper. At about 80mins, with us having hit the post, forced your keeper intk a couple of good saves, and then been on the back foot after the break, I genuinely thought we were going to get nothing from the match. I don't think our performance deserved anything, really. As soon as the Board went up for 6mins, Town's defence just fell asleep. For the first goal, the corner dropped onto the edge of the 6yd box, for Malachi to jab home. The fact that wasn't headed clear is criminal. The second goal comes from the dink out wide, and Howe is able to head back into the 6yd box unchallenged. Absolute suicide. Enjoyed my trip to The Shay, and thanks for your video.
@@rocknrollnobody our defence definitely went to sleep at the end of the game, I think they were hoping we’d score again before the board went up and burnt out long before, we had so many chances to wrap it up in the second half, it stings, but still neutrally speaking it was an entertaining match, and a great day to be a York Fan, must have been a great feeling at the end to the match.
York will play a lot better and lose, very lucky to get three points today. Credit to the Halifax club for giving unlimited numbers to visiting fans, 2,225 in the National League.
@@briantimbs2866 yep happened to us against Rochdale, better team and lost, seen it with many teams, York had probably the most away supporters I’ve seen at The Shay for a non-league fixture for a while, unfortunately I doubt we’ll bring that many up to the LNER later this season, I’d love to see that many at The Shay home and away every week.
Living in Bridlington York is the only realistic place I can watch the Shaymen so if York go up I would have to hope Scunthorpe go up but we seemed to be play well against Rochdale as well , hopefully we'll stay in the play-offs 😊. see you later .
@@peterdyson9590 it would be nice if York and Halifax got promoted together (being two Yorkshire sides and all), I want the last two games and the week off next week to give us the time and motivation to go for the playoffs, could do with a good run of games going up to Christmas to do that.
Really shows how relentless we were in going for that second goal, but we just don't seem to do "conformable " do we? Game changed when we made the subs, we stopped pressing from the front, only half the team pressed at all, we dropped deeper and from there, there was an inevitability about it.
@@KevinSmith-dn6ur thanks and yes football has a habit of kicking you in the teeth, twice this week for us unfortunately, obviously York had an amazing day with those two goals, good luck for the rest of the year.
@@zreqush I love going to York’s football stadium, I actually went to Bootham Crescent a few times when York was in the league above/below us, when Halifax were playing away at a ground that was too far for me to travel to, and went to The LNER the season they went up, (sadly York lost to Brackley 2-1 that day), I’ve only ever been in the away end once and that was April last year, couldn’t make it last season but might be able to this season, I love the city as well, think it’s a beautiful place York.
fair play, a very honest assessment, good luck for the rest of the season ( except when you come to the LNER )
