Hey girl ! You’re not alone ! It’s nyc so this happens. But like Jenny said, keep things dry and don’t leave anything out. Like drying dishes and pots and pan. Also garbage bin make sure is a closed lid one and that you take out your garbage at least every night.
I had a roach problem when I first moved to NYC. A neighbor saved me by recommending Advion gel bait. you place it in the cracks and the roaches take it back to their nest. It completely eradicated the problem and even though the building sometimes had issue, my apt. was good. My cats and dog didn’t care about the gel but obviously be careful if you decide to use. Good luck.

Recommend cleaning all of your drains with vinegar, baking soda, and then boiling water! It will clean any gross build up in your drain that the cockroaches are eating 😖. Then use drain covers!
@@TishaShrestha no I didn’t get a headboard, I wish I did because the mattress moves around a lot off the platform. And I think a headboard would’ve kept it more stable.
Roaches is such a problem in nyc. Sucks so bad. They can even enter through the cracks of your front door or if you have a window open just a little. Even from closets that may have holes somewhere.
I got MGK Vendetta Plus Cockroach Gel (4 Tubes) Bait & IGR Killer Paste from Amazon back in 2021. Haven't seen a roach or caught any roaches in sticky traps since. Initially you will find a bunch of dead roaches upside down for the first 3-6 months and then nothing. I didn't even have to use up all the tubes of paste either. Best $35 I ever spent. But it looks like your apartment is coming along really nice and glad that you are much happier at this point of the year compared to last.

Cockroaches are a problem in every apartment building. No matter how lovely. They come in because they look for crumbs etc. They can come up from your drains. Keep them plugged at all times. Keep all food crumbs cleaned. If you have dog food, cover it when your pup isn’t eating. Best of luck. I battled these roaches on a daily for my son in his apartment. Kept buying him traps and sprays etc. They are hard to keep under control but you are doing a good job.
@@MamaC6100 did you live in a high rise or an apartment building? I’ve never had them because I own my homes. But in apartment builds it’s hard not to have one
Good for you that you are taking your time collecting furniture and household things. I think it’s best to live in a space for a while so that your choices are more organic and suited to your lived experience in the space.
Order some legs from Amazon for the dresser! There is also a company called Pretty Pegs but they are expensive. You just get the part that the legs go to bro and secure them under the dresser and screw the legs in. So easy. I made an ottoman once and adding the legs was super easy😊. Everything is looking great!
Good to hear the roach problem is not as bad now, and it's great that the apartment is coming along, I love the way the shower curtain looks with the plants. Just a suggestion, but you could buy legs for the dresser to give it the height and additional storage you wanted. As long as you attach them securely they are sturdy. I'm always adapting things lol.
So happy how the green curtains turned out. Got it as final sale so I was really hoping it works out 😊. I didn’t even think about getting the legs separately. Since the dresser is heavy, I’ll have to look into finding very sturdy ones. Thank you so much for being here since the beginning ♥️♥️♥️

I wonder (besides the maintenance of course) if the floor # matters? I am in the 4th floor of a walkup building and in 3 years (almost 4) not once have I had roaches. I think once I saw a little spider in my bathroom but that’s been it. I wish you know not all the buildings are like that. Oh and important to comment, I by any chance live in a super fancy building. 4th floors, all studios, and like I said walk up (Beach Lane Management is the company that owns my building if anyone is interested in their rentals)
Thank you for sharing the management info 🙏🏽.🙏🏽.🙏🏽. It's a combination of things...so the apartment is one the 1st floor and there were a lot of gaps that had to be closed. Plus the unit was empty for months as well. I do think the floor # definitely contributed to the issue as well.
Get the RAID baits or Combat baits they work . And they not as bulky. The baits always consistently keeps killing them cause it’s a food inside the baits but it’s poison.. once they eat out of it they take it back to their nest and they die.. worth it.
Everything looks so good! 💕 I've seen hacks where ppl ADD legs to dressers and cubes and such. Esp those "hairpin" style legs for the more modern look. I don't see why you couldn't do the same. Just need to look everything over carefully and think it through to make sure it would work and support it. 🍀

I have seen positive feedback on ultrasonic pest repellent plug-ins. They let off a light/frequency that deters pests. Not audible to humans. Not sure how pets react to them though. Would require research.

I have had nightmare after nightmare dealing with USPS this last year.Hoped it would be better this year......nope!!!!Sending things all over the country when it should take a day or delivering to the wrong address.Where did you find a tv with that kind of stand........thats what Im looking for!The spray some of them use is very dangerous no matter what they say.I would buy ecofriendly sprays and do it myself.Wheres Puppy?You never answer questions.
So sorry to miss your question. Jhaape (my dog) is with my sister Pratisha for few weeks. Since I was cleaning like crazy, we thought it would make sense to have him there until all this is done. Exterminators did mention that it is safe for pets but I’ll do my research online as well. Thank you 🙏🏽 🙏🏽🙏🏽 I got the tv (Samsung) from Costco in 2015. I hope we both have better luck with deliveries this year ✨✨✨

Jesus Christ is the answer for your happiness. Only it is pure joy to give your life to Him. And as far as your dresser. It is so very easy to add legs. You can get the style you like at Home Depot or Lowes (or any home improvement store...even Walmart) and simply screw them into the bottom. I love the kind with wheels. And if you get the kind with wheels, you can also buy one of the legs to have a brake on it, so it won't move when you are not moving it.
They should be exstermating all apartment's at once if not they will come back but again i have never had a roach but spiders and fruit flys thants why i use peppermint clove or lemon oils safe for my dog i spray outside and inside all windows and doors it also make things smell good

They are so massive!!!! I have never seen such big roaches before...been trying to close any many gaps as we can.

Your bugs may be coming from your drains. They may be coming from your water pipes.
