Hinged gates are a common solution to retain the full length of the gate needed to block a street while having any objects above (such as wires or a highway underneath the crossing) restricting the full length of a gate. They comprise of a hinge that folds the remaining tip of the gate using gravity as the gate lowers and vice versa, making a rather satisfying thing to look at. These kind of gates are generally not easy to find, but they're pretty easy to find along lines that have multiple wires following the line, such as SRY's Fraser Valley Subdivision, which feature hydro poles and wires going back to the days of interurban service. So, enjoy a compilation of around 10 crossings with hinged gates I've recorded.
