Aixun T380: The Ultimate Microsoldering Tool or Waste of Money?

- Are you in the market for a soldering iron? Is your budget about $100? Well you’ll want to check this one out. The Aixun T380 soldering iron comes with a T210 or T115 handle and it is battery powered! That’s right, it’s portable!
Although at my shop, we don’t need the portability, it can still be used full time while connected to the charger & use it as a normal soldering iron.
This 80W Solder Iron is claimed to last about 40 min when soldering continuously at 400C.
So in this video, we put it up to a test. I use it to prep a Samsung S22 Ultra CPU Board & Chip to see how well it does at prepping the pads, wicking them flat and removing underfill.

@@VCCBoardRepairs oh yeah I know. But I remember when I was in business all these great value units were not like they are now. You were lucky to have a TS100 or a hakko. I had a Metcal and it coat an arm and a leg like JBC. Amscope was just becoming popular. And microscope cams were mostly usb c. High quality but so much lag.
Aixun/JC is an amazing company. Im waiting for more information about the 6 tool station they are talking about releasing late this year that will support micro hot air pencil, desoldering pump and more.

Great video! I picked up an Aixun T3B a while ago to use T210 and T115 and it’s been GREAT. My only complaint is the lack of tip styles. All I can ever find is the same I,J,and K tips. They show a bunch of on the website but no one seems to carry them so I bit the bullet and ordered a few JBC tips and they have been perfect for me.
Yeah you have to get JBC C210 and C115 tips if you want other types
I did manage to get old handles to work, just drilled extra hole for the t115 handle and works fine, haven’t tried drilling hole in t210 handle as it already came with that handle

@@VCCBoardRepairsyh just a small hole with dremel rotary tool, handle still works fine on other stations and this one , the extra hole for this station is blank so there’s no purpose to it, Aixun just want you to buy handles instead of using your old Aixun handles people have already.

Thanks for the great review, definitely going to order one. Stayed away from aixun stations after I had a bad experience with the aixun t3a, it kept restarting after you remove the handle from the stand and would go into like a bootloop making it unusable. It would work with some tips but bootloop on others, the screen would go blank and then restart. But after see your video on this one, I’m definitely going to give this station a go. Thanks for the share Jesse.

From the handle to the tip, no voltage. Unless i'm measuring wrong

Yes, but you can buy aftermarket tips for cheap online. Or get Genuine JBC tips

I dont like that style of soldering iron setup. it's a big bulky iron that will take up lots of space near your bench

Desperately bad review - you can see that the man has nothing to say about soldering station - first half of the review he turned soldering station over in his hands, and the other half of the review showed him soldering
What information did I leave out that made this a bad review?
TS100, TS101, Pinecil can run off a battery already.
Pinecil is $26 the others are $70.
What a piece of chit. The one in your video is by comparison.
