I have absolutely zero skating experience, and sports were never really my thing, but I resonate so much with the anime. I'm a musician who also spent about a decade teaching music at all levels, but primarily elementary. There were also a couple of years of me coaching youth sports while teaching, as well. So to see such a wholesome teacher and student pairing is amazing. Just knowing what it's like to want to believe in your student and help them achieve what you couldn't, to be for them what you wished you had when you were younger, it had me in my feels all four episodes so far, and I'm not even teaching anymore. So don't worry about tearing up. I was the whole time, and I've no skating experience.
I'm enjoying the work of Medalist, your reactions, and real-life figure skating and ice shows, which is why the plane crash in Washington DC really hurt my heart. It's so cruel to see young souls ready to fight on the ice, challenge the National Championships, and then die. The sadness of the reality is too deep, but Medalist still continues.
With deeper prayers (Inori), I watch over Medalist, all skaters, and you who are probably grieving more deeply than I'm right.

I am enjoying it. I didn't expect this episode to make me cry but it did so well done show.
Watching this and just seeing the news that 14 skaters lost their lives in DC knowing how much they had to put in to be on the national teams, it's just heartbreaking.

Yes please read the manga after, the art alone is reason enough. some of the most beautiful sports manga art ive seen. About the skipping straight to the double theres a quick flash back in the manga that kinda got cut from the anime sadly. As well as theres more little moments like that, that the anime sadly skipped for time. Still very happy with this adaptation
I started the manga in November-December when i saw the poster, it caught my attention and it quickly has become one my favorite manga ever, the art is gorgeous and i do feel they are doing a good job but adaptation could be a lot more
She is so scared for her kid that she internalised her other daughter's failure to such a degree that it's hurting her youngest daughter. Painful to see but lets hope she can solve it...

What yuitsuka means is to tie and bind.
It is appropriate for her to receive the prayers of all people and strive to the end.

U should do a yuri on ice rewatch just for the throwback and the skating trend rn going on and as a skater myself I'd love to see someone who also skates comment on it technically and not just about the character relation stuff like other commenters

the name of the main character in "From Bureaucrat to Vllainess" and the red uniform come from Gracie Gold (😴in my opinion).
