While you were watching this aya neo announced 23 new models
😅😅
Can't keep up with aya, anbernic or powkiddy new models every 2 weeks
They are rapidly hitting the button on random device generator and producing one everyday
you.. you LIE?
Some people may need 50 handhelds. I do have one which I returned two times because the screen was broken by delivery 🙄 no quality control what so ever. It's not the best but I wouldn't buy another one until this one works.
Ayaneo's stuff tends to be a bit pricey (I'd know, I own a few of them). "Pocket DMG" is a very good name for the damage it'll do to the wallet in your pocket.
😂
I've been interested of an AyaNeo hand held pc gaming consoles for a long time, but yes the Price is my reason why I don't have any AyaNeo like AyaNeo Flip DS what's my favourite! 😊
lol on the pocket damage
Man, I considered my odin2 expensive for a handheld, but ayaneo is next lvl pricey xD
True. About AYN I think that their prices are just as high as they have to be, given the build quality and the top notch hardware they are using.
I'm sure AyaNeo crafts awesome handhelds, too, but I don't see advantages over the Odins. They are just more expensive. 🤷
And it can be yours for the small price of 700 dollars 💀
What!? Tf 😆 🤣 😂
If this is a low price then I bet to him anyways 3k is a good deal for anything else
you would be lucky to find it for sale anywhere
😂😂😂
ayaneo fing crazy with their prices. the devices are ok and all but common wtf
Ayaneo: Wanna see me put a flagship SoC in an awkward form factor?
Wanna see me do it again?
Yeah I dont get why put a flagship into it. No way it's needed for that form factor
The DMG is the definition of overkill, so much power for such a small screen.
android games would be cool on it
Can't imagine ayaneo hitting a price point that doesn't make them irrelevant
Yup. They always shoot themselves in the foot.
@@ruxcooking Somebody has to be buying them, or they would be out of business.. but no idea who they are.
Hopefully the micro with the g99 processor will be decently priced if it went around 200 or less it could be a good smaller alternative to an rp4/pro. This vertical one has the new snapdragon tho so it's definirely gonna be insanely expensive.
bro most of the products are a whole pc so their prices are justifiable
@@Free_East_Turkestan I mean, so are everybody else's x86 handhelds that are several hundred dollars cheaper, just don't see the premium being worthwhile considering how fast this market segment is progressing, we're seeing rapid generational leaps in all areas surrounding them, the screens, battery, controls, and internals, it's not a forever toy, it's something thats going to be relevant for a year, or two at the most.
With all these devices they can't hire a native English speaker to translate their website/ad materials? And a website redesign would be nice too.
They're out of Hong Kong so they really don't have an excuse not to write in English as it's one of their official languages.
Doesn’t look comfortable at all
Lol
Right? They're showing it next to the GBA, and you can't not notice its sharp edges and corners. I can't imagine that being nice.
For fat fingers
You're not supposed to sit on it.
It is cool when you do these device videos because I love to see all the cool devices out there as it keeps people informed about what's out there and what it is all about. Keep it up as I love to see it.
The Gen 2 is wild to include in a handheld like this! If they price it right this will be a beast.
Already been stated by Aya the DMG will range from around $275 to around $400
Better get an Odin 2 for that price
@@daspferd7810 yeah the Odin 2 is really a good deal. Hard to beat, especially considering it has a Gen 3.
If this retails for 249 dollars they'll break the market and gain cult status But it's more likely that it will be 299 dollars 😅
@@TheRealBillySlang Odin2 has a Gen2
The touchpad choice was a mistake...the power that thing packs really requires a second stick frankly. It can play GC and PS2 both of which have second sticks, something a touchpad will be an awkward replacement for. Terrible idea...the power is wasted on this.
I like the idea of a touchpad, means you could easily play some retro PC games
If the PS2 emulator on Android functions well enough to want to bother some people may not mind. GC had awkward dual analog too, you would never need the C-stick at the same time as the face buttons so it's probably not a deal breaker. Retro PC games, _maybe_ if the windows emulators are easy to set up on it by then. There are a _lot_ of if's with this thing.
@@MrScottyTay This was my thought as well. But getting those to run might be kind of a hassle.
Only 1 set of shoulder buttons? No R2/L2?
they should've added the touchpad on the back like the vita and kept 2 sticks on the front.
Love the design of the Micro system, the black-silver model just get me, I'll get one if the price its not crazy, the DMG looks also very nice and stylish, let's wait to see them hands on and prices.
If I hadn't ordered a Retroid Pocket 4 Pro at launch, I would be all over that Pocket DMG. Just can't justify the extra purchase right now, hopefully they keep the line going and I can grab one in a few years when it's time for an upgrade
I love the vertical handheld but would have preferred dual analog sticks as opposed to that touchpad but well see how well it functions
looks amazing
Prices would be very interesting and of course your reviews for both. Personally and on price tag I‘m more referring to AYANEO Pocket Micro as I currently interested in Anbernic RG353PS
"They kind of do this every single month"
Yeah that checks out
There are plenty of cheapo vertical handhelds on the market, it's nice to see Ayaneo going for broke on this one. Top Tier no holds barred vertical handheld. Looking forward to what folks dare to run on it!
Helio G99 can even run a few switch games. I'm excited but they will be really pricey. I'm guessing 299+ USD MSRP for both devices. Would rather buy an analogue pocket with an adapter then.
Looks like a nice little beast...
Interested yes! Depending on the price though. Pocket micro in red has my eye!
@etaprime what tablet do you have running in the background?
The video isn't eta. He's taken an Aya stream and reposted clips. Don't expect him to make effort with these algorithm engagement videos he posts. He barely does anyway when he has a device to test.
god damn it, just bought the damn ODIN 2 mini, but i absolutely have to have that DMG.
Great vid 👍
I’m curious about the ergonomics. I think had the start/select buttons had been located centerline below the display and touch pad moved to the right it works have a much by better feel. It just seems like it would be a very awkward way to play anything above PS1
Really interested in that Micro. I just Indiegogo'ed the Pocket S, but I realized I keep buying portables that I'm too afraid to take out of the house. I think the Micro will solve that vice of mine. LOL. As for the vertical handheld, I have the Anbernic RG353V that I also modded to make the buttons feel more solid and not jittery, so no need to replace that for a while.
I REALLY don't understand why manufacturers has not yet come up with the idea to have a detatchable "d-pad + leftstick"-module, that you can rotate, and it will invert directions. (That way you can choose if you want to play d-pad focused games or analogue stick focused games)
Are we still getting the dedicated emulation video for the one plus pad? It's been almost a year, would love to see the video
hey ETA PRIME how about the new announcement for the OneXPlayer X1 Mini???
That white pocket dmg has been living rent free in my head since I first saw it
whats the difference between this and a normal mobile with an external controller??
The difference is you most likely can’t call and text on it.
I’ve come to the conclusion that a dedicated android handheld is pointless for my use case, it’s a modified phone without the phone capabilities. A good mobile phone and a controller will do nicely.
@@AzureBlu10 except for the fact that 80% of the entire emulation library is 4:3 and few games can force widescreen or it looks like shit when you do. This will run gamecube really well and you won't have the aspect ratio issues. That and unless you are doing this on a spare phone, you will be destroying the longevity of your battery of your phone, by either taxing it by playing games or by constantly keeping it 100% to play said games. Both are bad for batteries in the long term. An old phone and controller really is a great way to emulate, but again there is the fact that most of the games do not fit on the screen properly. This solves that.
How is Ayaneo regarding support of their devices? What is their RMA process like, if they have one at all?
When will a company give us an RG353P with a 4:3 OLED display and updated chipset?
True, even my $40 R36S 3.5 in screen is a beautiful thing. Why not one of those 1:1 screen models for you?
I really love the form factor of the SNES controller. I think an updated version would be a holy grail if done properly.
I'm loving that screen on the DMG. I love the 1:1 screen on my RGB30, so I think this is a great move.
1:37 is that an IR blaster or something between the volume and the vent?
Since it's an android device I'm pretty sure that's a fingerprint reader.
I really like the vertical form factor! I just wish the resolution was a little lower and the processor a little less beefy. As it is, this will probably cost about as much as an odin 2
I was hoping the DMG would be at least priced similar to the analogue pocket, I really liked the style.
you don't use the intro cutscene anymore? too bad that was lovely!
I love the look of the micro. It has a nes controller vibe with a screen and joysticks.
Pocket DMG has my interest. My Odin 2 is serving me pretty well at present, but I mostly play 4:3 games, so it would be nice to have a 4:3 handheld. A lot will depend on the battery life though.
Aya could have made a cheaper DMG style handheld but they put a top of the line snapdragon in it and charge more. It's a total waste of power in something with a screen thst size and aspect ratio. Who tf would try to run anything like yuzu etc in this? Also a ridiculous analogue stick placement with a touch pad? Aya definitely smoking something.
I would LOVE if this just used an FPGA given that it has an OLED screen.
CRT shaders and fancy frontends take a lot of power, plus PS2, Gamecube, Dreamcast are all 4:3 aspect too which will look incredible on this 4:3 OLED.
@@Wobble2007 Do you really think that PS2, GC, DC and so on will be comfortable to play on this thing? I sure don't think so!
@@estylegreesye4384 What do you mean comfortable lmao.
@@Wobble2007 The ergonomics, man! It's really not too comfortable to play on those vertical devices for a long time. I rather have a horizontal shaped bigger device which lies better in the hands.
I know this is off topic for you, but will you check out the minimal phone. It’s like a blackberry but it is android based, it also has a paper screen to it.
I'm pretty much sold. I've been wanting a vertical that can handle up to Wii emulation for Punch Out. It's beautiful.
man, ive been waiting on the miyoo flip but who knows when that will drop or how good it will actually be. ive become infatuated with the 35xx h lately but now that pocket micro looks very interesting. the next issue im looking at is my retroid pocket flip is actually almost the same footpring as the 35xx h, just with a 5'' screen tacked on to the front. that added weight and thickness does make a difference, but not really all that much
that analog stick on the vertical one should have been placed closer to the center for easier access
This channel just feels like one big ad.
I feel likes that’s 90% of TH-cam now lol.
I'll wait for the 50th version of this that comes out next Monday. 🤔
Now to see how unseasonably expensive these will be
How much does the Micro cost??
I gotta say the Pocket DMG looks nicer than an Analogue Pocket, and the fact that it's got analog control is really nice given the types of consoles I'd expect this to be able to play. Also really appreciating 4:3 (ish) and minimal bezel on this kind of device, sometimes widescreen is annoying on a retro-focused handheld!
I'm loving the hell out of my Retroid 4 Pro but this looks super tempting too if only for the cool design and form factor.
Anbernic and Retroid have nothing to worry about. The vertical is nice looking but I'll wait for the ETA review. The price, of course will be absolutely insane, but we'll see.
I'm interested in the micro with the helio g99 and 3:2 screen but this one seems weird it's very hard to imagine it not being stupid expensive.
Man that pocket DMG looks sick! I might be tempted to buy one just to have it. Then again if it cost an arm, then nah.
If the micro went for a wii classic controller bumper and trigger that would be sick
Where are the start and select buttons on the micro?
what's the price?
Odd choice for that Pocket DMG. Wouldn't it make more sense to take advantage of that power on a landscape device with dual analog sticks?
Probably stick to my Analogue Pocket but if that DMG had a touch screen for DS then I’d be tempted!
Helio g99? But midiateck also has one of his processor wich has a same name
Because it's from Mediatek.
I'm so interest in see the ayaneo pocket dmg and the ayn odin2 lite. But i think thie pocket dmg will be more that $400 if he lauch it near $350 i will buy one.
Does it work ram fast for the dolphin emulator?
Snapdragon g3x gen 2 is more than enough to move it at 3x resolution. The problem is that it only has 1 analog stick. Gamecube can be a problem, with wii the touch sensor can be very helpful.
Although I guess they will release a tool to use the sensor as a second analog stick.
does the pocket DMG only have 2 shoulder buttons? if so that's a massive shame for a handheld with an analog stick
That DMG hardware design is so good
While I plan on sticking with what I have, they do look impressive.
Poxket neo with OLED!
and snap gen 2!
Exactly what i needed and was waiting for all these years!
TAKE MY MONEY AYANEO!
I think most would pass if its over 200
Why not juat atuff SD865 or 870 in? Sure they are older, but ahouldn't they be much cheaper by now?
When will this be released??
other than GB nostalgia, what can the dmg do that the odin 2 can't?
My go to question for all android handhelds going forward
The pocket dmg seems real nice
Ayaneo is having a lot of issues trying to get CPUs right now. My DS machine was supposed to be delivered in April, then early May, then Mid to late May, they just now announced they are trying early June.
Pocket DMG looks to be using the bottom screen from LG Wing phone.
That Pocket DMG is looking good 🤩
Time to take out that second mortgage…
Is it me or does the DMG not have L2 & R2? Maybe they are touch based? Also the Micro Pocket looks very uncomfortable to hold with those bottom corners having no radius.
Hi ETA! I love that you are always excited about the new stuff. But.... I just don't see the point of that much power in a 4x3 handheld with those controls. The 'micro' doesn't look super small, but still a decent size. The top corners do look like they'd make it hard to use the R1 and L1 buttons comfortably. Both handhelds are real pretty though.
Id imagine with how thick it is you could OC a little
Will we ever have a cheap retro console for using retro games directly from Steam?
Always been a vertical handheld fan.
i would buy the vertical one, just for nostaliga
Charging system on my Ayaneo 2 does not work well, need a battery management system asap. Battery charge cut off at 175%
The DMG looks enticing, but my pocket is already damaged by Analogue and Pocket S. There is no Hp bar left to take additional DMG.
prices?
I like both of those and would love to have them but they will probably cost a lot and if you get some issue it may be hard to get proper help from the company even if they try to help (personal experience on that...). I don't know if I will ever risk it again for anything that costs more than 300 dollars. Still those look so great, very interesting and more premium. I think I like slightly more the micro one as it looks very pocket friendly. Lets see when they reveal prices but I do actually think that the dmg one will have Analogue Pocket alike price (slightly higher) and the micro around 200dollars...
They should also have a mini HDMI port.
The price of DMG might be OMG…
"Might be"? It's Ayaneo. It's GONNA be.
If the DMG is sensibly priced and has good audio I'm sold on that, a 4" OLED 4:3 aspect screen with over 400 PPI is amazing and perfect for retro games, scanlines are gonna look so good on that, with proper CRT colour thanks to the OLED, only thing that would make it better is if it had black frame insertion or rolling scan.
every time I blink aya neo releases a new device
Love the design of that pocket micro, but the ergonomics though, those sharp edges will dig in to the palm of my hands. They better be selling grips for it.
I'm interested in the Pocket DMG. But it depends on the price. I have three analogue pockets. This runs all the old arcades and 16 bit/neo Geo. And I can use the dock. So it's almost the ultimate for me. When the company allows that dock to support their DAC then it's the ultimate. But if this pocket DMG is £200 - £250. I'm in.
From the design, I worry my palms would be constantly hitting the thumb stick and or start/select buttons.
Could be interesting on the Steam Deck. Especially for those of us with the case that has a heatsink on it.
I just want a beefier Retroid Flip. I love my retroid flip, I play it more than my Odin 2.
Pocket DMG looks good, and gives a better option to the Analogue Pocket. It will be down to price point now.
That oled screen tho....smart move
I wonder if you could install steam on the one with a SD g3x, The pocket DMG was it.
I'll stick with my Retroids and Anbernics, thank you
That stick placement should count as a war crime
AYANEO recently annoyed? hahahaha. the pocket micro is very enticing tho - just wished the corners are not as sharp.
Best looking devices I have ever seen, but price is the highest i have seen, too
I really like the horizontal one, but I'll wait for the day someone release a phone with built-in controls, so I don't have to carry 2 devices in my pockets
Beautiful devices!
I’m still happy with my modded vita and rp4 pro and miyoo mini. Until the miyoo flip comes at least.
