    The hollow nut with the nipple looks like an old vacuum hose fitting or something similar. I just ordered the Ace 400 55TH Anniversary model, so videos like this make it look like I made a good choice! Now just have to familiarize myself with it and find good places to go detect at!

      Could be a brake bleeder nipple too.

    Started with a garrett Ace 250 a year ago , ended up buying the At pro few days ago. I think I will probably stick to garrett. Very good detectors. I liked your video , you put a lot of effort to it , so I subscribed. Thank you for taking me to your adventure. Greeting from Belgium , Europe. Good luck to you

    i was impressed with this machine as well. pulled a BB pellet among trash at 4" and that was my first hunt with this machine.
    faster recovery speed...the bottle cap ID seems like the zincs but if you use the iron ID it would give you hint that it ain't coin that is what i noticed. square tabs has bell tone but it jumps on ID so another indication that it ain't coin...
    nice video and location Carolina Hunter. more video on the ace please! HH

    Ace 400 appears to work well for a mid level machine! It would make for a great all rounder from the results you found! HH from Florida

    New to hunting myself, grandparents did it and had great luck. I'm in the SE part of New Mexico on the Pecos River hoping I can have the same luck as yourself with my new Ace 400 when it arrives. Not sure where I'm going to start or what I'm hoping to find, but something is better than nothing.

    Nice vid, thanks for sharing. I've been detecting for years and have not yet been able to find a buffalo nickle. Maybe once my new 400 arrives. It's on its way from Kellyco right now. As far as beach detecting goes, walk parallel to the water. As you get in wetter soil, the auto ground balance will help it to run smooth, at least as good as it is engineered. Backing down on the sensitivity will also help. Some detectors just hate salt water, others are fair. Using a pulse machine is the best.

    That pawn looking thing may be some kinda zerts fitting? Nice hunt! I'm getting used to my ace 400. I've been out two days with it and absolutely love it so far.

    Good hunt. Can you dig a few holes and bury some silver dimes with a rusty nail or very close to it and see what tone it gives and what numbers would show that would be interesting. Also a rusty bottle cap and a new bottle cap in a hole like 7" down by themselves and see what numbers they show? I know its a tall order. Im actually interested in this machine for my son so that would be helpful. Thanks.

    That Garrett Ace 400 looks like an awesome detector. Didn't know it was that good. I know this is over 4 years later, but I hope you are doing well. Haven't seen any detecting videos from you lately. Hope you are doing ok.

    Hey I know this is an old video but good job. I just got an ACE 400. Moving up from a Bounty Hunter Tracker IV & Tracker Pro. Haven’t even been able to try it yet. Hopefully tomorrow.
    What camera were you using? Do you remember if you had an external mic. Sounded good. I’m hoping to get an action camera to record my finds. Thanks, Dave in PA.

    How would you compare to the treasurepro? Just picked up one recently. I read your results about using beach mode and how it seemed to help boost depth a little. Cool video by the way and looks like a really good machine.

    Great video. I'm looking to buy my first detector. My son has an ace 150 but I'm looking at either the 400i retailing at £279 or the AT PRO at £518. Which do you recommend for a newbie considering the AT PRO is nearly double the price. I live in the UK by the sea. Thanks.

    • @CarolinaCoinHunter
      @CarolinaCoinHunter  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think the 400 is a good choice. It's depth and recovery speed are very good. The bell tone will stop you in your tracks over a high conductor, like a silver coin. With it's ease of use I think it would be a great way to get started.

    How much gold you find? How much money you make? Garret 400 is very expensive..do you think money becomes back? Whit 400 euro price machine can buy a big gold.

    I lost my footing crossing a creek today and slipped and completely submerged my entire Ace 250. Now it won't power up. grrr. Anyone had this happen?

    • @detectingchicago7768
      @detectingchicago7768 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yea, had the same thing happen to my ACE 150 when I first started detecting and fried it completely. Could try drying it out but the control boxes on the ACE series detectors are not waterproof and when the do get a good amount of water in them it pretty much fries everything.

    • @fhpd350
      @fhpd350 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the response. Well today it powered up but seems to be acting crazy. Haven't had a chance to legitimately test it yet though to know for sure.

      If its still under warranty you can check what Garrett can do about it. They have great customer service but don't know their coverage for incidents like that with machines.

    • @CarolinaCoinHunter
      @CarolinaCoinHunter  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +fhpd350 I'd give it a couple of days to dry out with the battery compartment off, then give it another shot. It can take a while for all the moisture to evaporate. Hopefully it will function properly. If not, I'm sure Garrett would take a look at it. Great customer service from those guys. I'm sure a repair would be much cheaper than buying a new unit, but I'd give it a few days to dry first.

      I'm pretty new to the hobby and hated to damage my new toy. I'll remove the batteries and hope it works better soon.

    У нас в России его не продают еще, 400 долларов это много для него, x-terra 705 больше функций, баланс грунта, геологический режим, 3 частоты, подсветка, 99 тонов, а цена почти одинакова! не стоит он таких денег, у меня ace 250 я замучился копать ржавое железо, оно пищит цветным сигналом! не поймешь монета или железо! приходится копать все подряд горы металлолома! я устал от него!

    I have to say that ive never liked the bell tone thing that Garrett has going on with the ace, and the at series. its kinda harsh on my ears.

    How do you think the ace 400 will work on wet sand on a FL. beach

    • @CarolinaCoinHunter
      @CarolinaCoinHunter  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      It will probably work if you disc out iron and foil. You may not get a whole lot of depth, but it should do very well on the dry sand.
