  • So I’ve decided i wanted to tap into educating my audience about the Deaf and #ASL community. Education just seem to be my thing 😭… I am a #CODA (Child of Deaf Adult)
Going to talk about a lot of the misconceptions and more on a daily to educate you all on how you can effective communicate with hearing impaired people.
One of the largest misconceptions, from my own observation is that Deaf & Mute is the same things and that’s not true ❌
Mute people don’t use their voice & Deaf people don’t use their ears- you understand that and you’ll understand the rest. looking forward to answering some more questions in future videos
    ❤️ heart this post
💭 Comment your thoughts & some questions you might’ve always had when it came to #ASL

In USA we, deaf people don’t use mute because “deaf mute” offends us. Some deaf can use the speech by voice. Some deaf don’t want to use speech to lock voice for some reasons. I am kind of scared to use my voice because I had the experience with the laryngitis inflammation and lost my voice for temporary. I would use speech by voice to talk to someone who knows me.

So what would someone who is both deaf and mute call themselves?

@@imthebossmermaid3648 you forget when the baby is deaf by birth, how can they be mute? They cry and scream . They would let you know something bother them. For example, something scares the deaf child or teen or woman or middle aged people who would scream or yell loudly to scare hearings who don’t expect the sound.

My late brother and I are deaf profoundly. We went to the speech school before we were sent to school boarding.
It's possible for deaf people to learn how to speak. A variety of methods may be used, including speech training and assistive devices. How easy or difficult learning to speak may be can depend on when a person became deaf.Apr 2, 2020 possible for deaf people to learn how to speak. @@djb3918 I'm not sure I understand, some people are born mute, ie, lack vocal chords. Are you saying it's impossible to lack both hearing and vocal chords? What if a deaf person is born mute and unable to speak/learn to speak? What would they call themselves?
