Hi, I’m a British Londoner and I’ve visited the Philippines 10 times since my first visit in1986, my latest trip was 2017, I was due to go in 2020 but along came COVID. Your videos take me back there, I’m hooked, watching for a couple of hours most nights before sleeping. I find them fascinating, though some scenes from the Tondo walk were pretty daunting. Loving seeing many of the places I have visited, it brings my “other” home a bit closer. Thank you.

It’s amazing and how lucky we are in this age of technology, that we can see and reminisce the places we visited many years ago. I remember when my mom and I would shop there when I was a little kid back in the late 70’s. Although, it seems more spacious, organized and somewhat cleaner now, compared to those days.
I was just showing this clip to my daughter. I showed her the Tutuban where I used to worked as a train stewardess in 1986-87. Then I left went to Canada and started my own family here. There are times that I get sad and missing my Philippines and our kapwa tao Lalo Na ngayon I’m close to my retirement age. I’m looking forward to move back to Philippines sa Ticol, Sorsogon sa probinsiya namin. Pero , Laki din ako ng Tondo, Maynila. I know our daily lives there sa Maynila. In the old days when you mention TUTUBAN means train station. from TUTUBAN all the way to LEGASPI CITY Bicol. is the train station still exists?

I'm from mindanao during 60s my late father said if you are in manila don't missed divisoria where you can buy cheap items.

Amazing these markets, nothing like that here in Manchester,England. I was upset at those puppies obviously needing their mum and just crying.. I had to look for how much money from your to our £ it’s so cheap. Wish you could of walked a little slower so we could see what the traders were selling. But Thank you I enjoyed it. 🤗👍

Shopping around the divisoria is so much fun. Looking at the tutuban centre brings a lot of good memories when I was there in 2019. Looking forward to shopping there again soon!!

If I'm a westerner walking through this huge market with so many people, and suddenly I need to go to the bathroom (cr) really badly, where can I go???
There are malls and shopping centers around the big areas like this and they have public restrooms =) Might not be like what most westerners are used to, but they are available, just make sure that you bring your own toilet paper =)

Yes, they started clearing things up because the vendors started getting out of hand, no place to walk ha ha =)
To be honest it was for the better. My Husband and I used to drive on a motorcycle there before and it was such a pain driving because vendors are taking over the road and it was difficult to maneuver. Not to mention it looks so much cleaner now too.
