Dude can pick. Nice to see the head of a guitar-making company like Taylor that is competent enough with his product to truly understand whether his company makes good guitars or not. Not sure if that's true of Fender, Gibson, Martin, etc.
Does it have any projection without an amp? I understand it isn't going to be as loud as a traditional acoustic, but I would think it's louder than most electrics. Wanting a T5z custom, but the 812ce builders edition has my attention.
Hi, b4i4getjr. The T5z doesn’t have a lot of projection on its own. It’s hollow but it’s fairly thin so there isn’t going to be a ton of volume when played acoustically. It’s definitely designed for someone who wants good acoustic and electric tones when plugged in, but its not going to replace a great high end acoustic guitar for unplugged sounds. If you’re just wanting acoustic sounds but also need to plug the guitar in sometimes, the 812ce would be a great option. Thanks for your interest!
