    You can see so much influence in the design/build from the Acoustasonic series. It's great seeing Fender stretch out and doing new things. And putting that new line in Mexico to good use beyond the Player Acoustasonics is good business. Just like my Acoustasonic Tele, these look so comfortable with their smooth rounded edges. I'd love to get my hands on a mahogany parlor Highway Series. I might never pick up my Joe Strummer Campfire again.

    ❤Thank you! This was exactly the way demos should be done! 🎶👍

    Nice demonstration! I like the mahogany top dreadnaught the best. But the parlor is surprisingly putting out a respectable amount of bass tone for the size. Let’s see what Fender does next with perhaps a cutaway shape and maybe a sunburst finish and other colors.

    for most guitars body size makes a lot of difference but does the body size in the Highway really make that much difference?

    The parlor model is small, I could expect the case to be smaller for easy transportation....

    Interesting that these are starting as a Mexican line, either there's going to be an American one with more sounds like the acoustasonics or Fender is realizing there's an incredibly small market for their "acoustic" instruments at $2000+

    Appreciate Sweetwater demo’s, well done. Not a fan of what Fender is currently cranking out.

      Play one before bashing these. Much better than the Acoustasonic. The Mahogany Dreadnought sounds excellent and loud unplugged

    All the advantages of a solid body played clean and into a PA but in a semi hollow acoustic shaped guitar.

    So does it have electric guitar strings or acoustic guitar strings?

    • @sweetwater
      @sweetwater  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, James. The Highway Series uses standard acoustic guitar strings.
      Thanks for your interest!

    I think fender would have had a greater response to these had they launched at $799.
    However i will be checking out the mahogany parlor soon.

    Man, i was never a fan of acoustasonic. The guitars sound ok. Would prefer a full time acoustic rather than this. Prices are also steep considering rhey are mad in mexico.

    They look Beautiful but they just sound like dork a** compared to an LR Baggs Tru-Mic dialed all the way up. Still the best plugged in acoustic system and the closest sounding to a mic'd Acoustic. Wonder what an LR Baggs Anthem would sound like in this guitar, 🤔

    Thanks for using an acoustic amp. Kills me when players use electric amps and expect an acoustic sound. Most acoustic amps have tweeters to achieve acoustic frequencies. Don points out a real plus when using the Highway and that is not overpowering/bleeding into the vocal mic when playing an acoustic and singing. Why I bought one of these.

    They sound so hollow and not in a good way. Doesn't sound like a proper acoustic.

  • @greidel67
    @greidel67 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    So they made electric guitar shapes with a majority of the sounds being acoustic, and an acoustic guitar shape with zero electric sounds. I don't understand their decision process.

    • @zorglubmagnus455
      @zorglubmagnus455 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      And none of the acoustic simulations that were supposed to improve the tinny boxy sound…

    I am always amused by talk about how much an electric guitar sounds like an acoustic guitar. Yeh, sure. But at least these models actually look like a guitar.

    Could never buy one just for the rediculous headstock. Even if great. Just looks like an elephant head on a giraffe. Nothing wrong with either.. Just not natural looking 😂

    These are made in Mexico. The Mexican acustasonic play horrible in my opinion, how do I know these are not the same?

    • @GenericDogOwner
      @GenericDogOwner 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah, my experience with the Acoustasonic MIM models is similar. I found that they vary wildly in quality. I played two Player Tele models at the same store. One had an action so high that it wasn't playable. The other was a reasonable instrument, but not interesting enough to buy. I'll probably give the Highway series a strum at some point, though.
