    02:00 Interestingly, in Polish, the first two highlighted words would be in vocative case :q Because they're not really the subjects in these sentences (they don't perform the action) - we're _addressing_ them.

      Spanish speaker with a background in Latin studies here. I noticed this same thing, since Latin has vocative case, too. But hey, one less case to learn!

      That was like that in old Russian and still is in Church Slavonic.

    English speakers are confused because they don’t have gender words. But in Spanish they do. Luckily i speak both hehe

    so if there predicate nominative in russian this will be also in nominative case like Иван студент
    Ivan and student will be in Nominative case yes ???

    there are 6 cases.... but nominative is much easier I guess

    in the second Sentence, why is just "I"the subject? should "you" , "Mary" and "city" also be subjects and in the nominative case too?confused......help

      The rest of the words in that sentence have another cases, cause they respond for another questions, example: о тебе - о ком?; я - кто?
