Thanks for this!! You saved me so much money in NOT having to get my RV towed to Mercedes. I got a friend to help me and we were able to swap the battery.
Thanks for the detailed video. I have a similar year and model MBS RV and I am replacing my battery. I had a problem as I discovered a random blue wire connected to a 30 amp fuse which was not connected to anything. The red wire was connected to the positive terminal. Upon watching your video I noticed you have a similar fuse container, and that your blue wire was not connected as well. Thanks and this was very helpful.
OMG..Thanks so much for the video. After taking off the cover plate and looking at the wiring I decided it was not a job for me. Thanks to you I will be surely save some money doing this myself.
I have a 2013 sprinter reyo mercedes, just a heads up in the Manuel it said to turn the engine key to the on position wait 20 seconds before disconnect, also same for reconnecting battery so you don't mess up the electric system. But of course I didn't do this but so far so good.
There's alot of good information on our Facebook page Mercedes-Benz Sprinter RV group. Join that.. others have posted video's of Sumo Spring install and so forth :D
Thanks I am about to replace the battery on our 2017 Via. This looks like the Duracell battery at batteries+? I was going to go with the die hard AGM group 49 battery but this one gets great reviews and has a four year warranty ….is that why you chose this one?
Yes, I wanted the 48 Month Free Replacement Warranty. Our sprinter will kill our battery if we don't run it. Since it's an RV, it does sit for extended periods.
@@DeeYohsGarage ok great info I priced out the Duracell and I will probably get it tomorrow. Ours is the original and it seemed to be doing fine but I let it sit a few weeks without running it and I didn’t know about the battery disconnect plug by the drivers footwell. It was as dead as a door nail, couldn’t bring it back to life with a trickle charger. Lesson learned and it was supposed to be replaced this year anyway from what I read
@@HRradness Your battery did much better than ours. The orginal didn't even last us a year. I wasn't using the disconnect either :D So far the Duracel in there holds much longer than the orginal ever did. I can tell after a few weeks that its getting low but never fails to start the RV. I'll be replacing the BIM under the passenger seat with a 12v dc/dc charger. We have solar and the house battery never dies and usually has a full charge. This will let the solar charge the chassis battery also when the house battery is full.
@@DeeYohsGarage guess I got lucky I’m changing mine now. It’s the original from 2008. I do keep my rv plugged in when not in use but now it will die overnight when boondocking. Cheers
What battery did you use for your replacement I'm trying to find a battery for a 2017 Merecedes Sprinter Era but I'm not having any luck. It has the 3 post like what you just installed but I couldn't tell what that battery was. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
Appreciate the video. In the future, cut out the removing the bolts and just say what size. I didn’t see or hear what type of battery is actually in there!
Geez, I never would've found those 10mm bolts in the front without this video! Thanks so much.
