- I did a job wrong by not doing right the first time. Here is what to expect if not done right the first time. On a different note, I will explain the differences between both D and E version carb comparison.
Love your videos mate - I've just inherited an E7 that's sat for well over a year - Currently stripping it down as cant get it to start - Old fuel etc all needs removed. Thanks for posting these up - have been really helpful.
happy motoring....
mate u helped me loads, first tear down carb ive done, cheers dude, had her up parked up for months but all the floats were gummed up.. all better now
you are more than welcome. This is a typical problem for the first ninja based bikes. This bike has now been sold on as the owner decieded to stop riding competely and i got fedup with the repairs to it.
E engines have smaller intake valves compared to the D models. I currently run an E model engine with D carbs main jetted for E, Good video fella
The carbs are the same, it's just the intake ventures that are different. Swap over is possible. Happy motoring buddy.
The d model and e model carbs are different, the taper on the needles is different and the water hose is kinda important if you run your bike all year round as it stops your carbs icing up
their is no difference in fitment except for the snorkles. I am aware of the water hose line and as i stated you can by pass this. I have used the bike all year round and never had an issue with this item removed. I have never come across and iced up carb. It has to be very cold indeed for this to happen. hence you can remove this if the person wishes. The needle tapper maybe different hence the jetting is different. This i am also aware off. however for fitment, this does not cause a major problem. Some fine tuning if you want it perfect. As stated, if you cannot find a D model the E versions are just fine and will fit no problems. That was the point of this video.
all of them seem to miss this item. or was never there.
HI,
Are you missing a screw there on carb 2? (on the rod for the choke)
Nice vid. Thnx
oddly enough i think yes. however i have found most of these carbs have the exact same flaws....
Mine aswel yes..
✌
regular thing with the quakers
I'm missing the same exact scew... Wondering if it was ever there in the first place...@@jasonputtock4428
What did you put in the sink when you soaked them?
carb cleaner + washing up liquid then after IPA to clean off other chemicals to avoid residual crap.
use redex fuel cleaner for injectors before you fill up. use 1/2 bottle. once done. run the bike hard to ensure fuel helps to clean out jets fully.
I think maybe you had a lot of shit in tank ,, that shit don't appear from sitting for a month ,, and if you do need to lay your ride up for a while turning the fuel off and letting the bike run till the carbs are dry can be a good option
i repaired the bike for someone else. yes this came out of the carbs and have no idea why. Since this the bike was sold on for a TT600. that bike is a totally different story and most likely cause a stir with the triumph owners. That bike it self is badly designed and built to destroy itself and triumph are aware of the problem and refuse to correct the matter.
