Humminbird has a Trolling Motor SI transducer for this unit and used that one. I don't have model number handy. Have also used HDSI Transducer with Transducer Shield Bracket and that works too

My question is I want to mount the Helix on the console and use the humminbird transducer off the transom. Can I run the ethernet cable to the Helix from the Minn Kota and will it all still work? If I put a helix 9 SI at the console and a Helix 9 2d gps combo on the bow will I be able to see the SI / DI screens from the bow unit by simply networking the units with the 2 adapters and 1 Ethernet cable?

+Joe Morrow If you are going to use US2 Transducer in the Trolling Motor it is only 2D Sonar Capable. You would have to mount external transducer to get DI on a Terrova.
Doug Vahrenberg I'm pretty sure ipilot link won't work if the us2 trolling motor transducer is not plugged in. The us2 transducer is extremely out dated and not very useful on the newer Helix units. This makes a simple setup nearly impossible for someone who would purchase these units and expects the features to actually work. This is a huge oversight by Humminbird and Min Kota. You should post a video showing what that unit can do hooked directly to the us2 without networking.
Having a Helix 9 would be awesome, but that is still a lot of $$ for the average guy. I wish they had a $200 rebate like some units did last year, but as far as I know there aren't any available. That would help a lot and maybe make it affordable for me to buy a fish finder. You said this unit comes with 360 and you showed that, but I'm guessing the transducer is not new and can not really do 360. I'm assuming you need a special transducer?
+MrWhitetail I bet there is no Rebates...that is normally done prior to model changes or when they need to sell units. HELIX 9 is selling faster than the folks at Eufuala, Alabama can build them so why would a company want to discount them...is my thoughts. 360 Imaging is an additional accessory that can be purchased and used with the HELIX 9, 10 or 12. They do build other models that are less price like the HELIX 5 or 7 that help fit smaller budgets too. But they will not do 360 Imaging and offer smaller screen and less features but that helps fit smaller budgets.
Hey Doug, today I almost purchased the Helix 10 SI. My only concern was that it comes with 2 transducers. I like the SI because of the forward looking view it provides. I'm mounting it to my trolling motor. The DI transducer would have to go on the transom. My concern with this configuration is one transducer (SI) is forward looking while the other (DI) has a somewhat historical look if mounted on the transom. My goal was to have one transducer but since the Helix 10 comes with 2 transducers it seems almost impossible to get both transducers together where they have the same or close to the same view in real time. I know that you've mounted your SI on your trolling motor and I'd also like to know if you've experienced any issues with that (trolling motor) configuration and do you have any suggestions for my configuration dilemma (specifically the DI transducer)? The Side Imaging Transducer was mounted on the Trolling Motor. and works well but when you turn quickly changes the data and takes a while to learn where the data comes from but it's won me lots of money. Better yet is the 360 and you don't have to guess or move the trolling motor to look around like you have to do with SI on the trolling motor
I am taking delivery of my new boat Wednesday. It will have front and rear helix 9's, networked, coupled with an ulterra i-pilot link trolling motor. Is there a way to put an Si transducer on the ulterra for the front unit, leaving the rear unlinked using the rear transducer? If so will they interfere with each other my boat is 18ft 7in?
Or you can add Side Imaging to the trolling motor and do it by turning the trolling motor but more work for you and takes some guestimating to determine exact location. 360 Imaging System does the work for you and you don't have to disturb the fishing location either. Depends on your budget and needs.
I just came back from the store and after playing around with the Helix 7 with the person in the store. Neither of us found a way to remove all the items. COG and speed stay up no matter what we tried and we found no option anywhere to just overlay things. + the readouts are extremely large. Not really impressed with this unit so far!
+Elmer Fudd HELIX 7 is not the same as the HELIX 9, 10 or 12. You can turn off the readout on the HELIX 7 but the 9, 10, & 12 you can overlay. One of the differences in the products.
+Elmer Fudd I have a Helix 5 Si that I purchased last July and I have removed the boxes on it and went to an overlay just like you see in this video. I'm sure if the Helix 5 can do it the Helix 7 can as well. I have mine set up just like you see in the vid with only depth, speed, and temperature showing. Double tap the menu button, then go over to the setup tap, go down to digital readouts and change the readout from boxes to overlay. Right below the digital readout box is select readouts. There you can chose what you want to see on your overlay. Hope this helps! I wish the bigger Helix versions would have been out last year.

HELIX 10 is larger screen and the larger the screen the easier to see fine details. HELIX 10 also has more Pixels than the HELIX 9. Both are great units but the 10 is an upgrade. Now what it's worth to you that will be your decision if it is worth the added detail and dimensions

I'm looking to download a map from chart select... the map I'm downloading is HD. I will be using a Micro SD Card that is Class 4, is there any advantage to using a class 10 micro SD Card. I understand that a class 10 records faster and can handle speed is that needed with this HD map from Chart Select?
Because when I did this video 360 was not invented yet. So Side Imaging allows you to look away from the boat in all direction. Now that I have 360 Imaging I use it instead of Side Imaging on the Trolling Motor.

People spend a $1000 on a gun they use once a year to hunt deer. I spent close to $2000 on a trolling motor and Helix 5. I fish (weather permitting) four and sometimes 5 days a week. I let the working people have the lake on the weekends. I think that justifies having the best equipment I can afford.
I spent 500 on a helix 5 and nearly 1500 on a xi5 motorguide trolling motor. That is twice what I paid for an old (1976) 16' polorcraft aluminum boat. I have to say this it the second season on the xi5 and it is worth every cent. Good fishing--as if there is any other kind!

360 only works with the $1200 transducer?
Bow 360 is $999 and yes to create 360 Images you must have the transducer that is compatible to create the images.

may I ask what transducer did you use to make the 360 work. I called bass pro Shop but they say I need another transducer for the 360 to work.....
