As a Norwegian I can easily understand Swedish, cause Norwegian and Swedish are like 2 dialects from the same language but with their own military and separated border
Thank you for the stream Layla and also for inviting Ike for this episode. This is such an educational and interesting stream and I learned a lot about Swedish and Indonesian language 🥰🥰
One of the best language class ever. Had so much fun learning while watching. Aside from all the knowledge, both of your voices sounds really mesmerizing and shooting even when you both laugh. So glad i able to watch it live and the vod is here to watch again. Thank you for this madam and Ike. Otsumeria and otsuikey XD
For those who are curious about the Swedish swear words Ike didn't want to say; i wont write them out in the comment because they are pretty bad, like the man himself said, but i will give a clue to which swear words i believe he's referring too so that those who are interested can look them up for themselves: - The first word is the Swedish word for the female "part between the legs" and its a five letter word that starts with F and ends in A. - The second word is the Swedish word for the male "part between the legs" and it's a three letter word that starts, and ends, in the letter K. - And the third word is the Swedish word for "a woman of the night" and it's a four letter word that starts with an H and ends with an A. Thats the words i believe Ike is referring too. The last clue is: i'm fairly certain PewDiePie has said all these words in his Amnesia playthrough as a result of getting jumpscared so just watch that and i'm sure you'll hear them at some point.
I love how Ike gets some spellings in Swedish wrong haha. For example he said "Kål" is both Cabbage and Coal, but it only means Cabbage. In Swedish, "Coal" = "Kol". :)
Swedish intonation or pitch can be divided into 5 variants, all are divided into tone 1 and tone 2. The contours of each pitch is different in all the 5 variants but they all distinguish a tone 1 and tone 2. But in general tone 2 is always falling, and tone 1 is always rising. So the most used example is Type 1a vs type 2b, where the word Anden said in type 1a as àndèn(tone 2) it is similar to type 2b's ândèn (tone 1) and while they're not the same, as the diacritics show, this can create confusion as the 2 words have different meanings, the duck(type-1a) the spirit(type-2b) Type-0 ruins all patterns because it's the Finland Swedish, toneless, don't get me wrong it's still tone 1 and tone 2 but they're the same. Type-1a is the oldest 1, and it's also the one which Danish Speakers used to speak with 2-300 years ago. Before changing to their own form of grammatical stress known as Stød. Type-1a is spoken in 2 regions, the Dalecarl region and in the South of Sweden, in the Region of Scania, outside of Scania Type-1b is the most common along the west coast of Sweden, all the way up to Norway, where it goes back to Type-1a when you finally manage to go to Bergen, on the Norwegian coast. Most of Sweden is Type-0 because let's face it the North is pretty empty... Then Around Stockholm Type-2a is spoken and south of Stockholm between Kalmar and Nynäshamn on the East Coast Type-2b is spoken. For more information about the Swedish Language, you could scour the TH-cam Comment sections all across TH-cam for even more comments about the weirdest dialect continuum that is the Scandinavian Language, because if Sweden doesn't recognize Scanian as a proper language, I ain't gonna recognize Swedish either.

Wait a second, army and arm isn't spelled the same. Close, I suppose, but "the arm" in swedish is spelt "armen" while "the army" is called "armén", the little adition to the E is the key there.

As a Norwegian I can easily understand Swedish, cause Norwegian and Swedish are like 2 dialects from the same language but with their own military and separated border
Meanwhile, the border between Norway and Sweden to Denmark will always be a potato...

Why vod? What happened to the stream?
idk, but 40 seconds were cut out. Maybe just stream issues.
