For a therapist, this woman is pretty bad at listening - and communicating in general. She sounds like a text book narcissist. The whole conversation is painful to watch and listen to.
Nikki’s radar is whack lol she has good friends but her intimate relationships are toxic. She had a therapist in the past tell her “nobody loves you I’m the only one who loves you”. Granted she dropped that therapist but still
I just upvoted this video because of Moshe bringing some sense into that crazy discussion. Nikki and Anya, stop doing this to yourselves. Dr. Allen's advices are terrible, plain and simple.
As a guy, my issue with this philosophy is that one, I need to know if we are sexually compatible BEFORE we get married. Sex provides an important pillar of a relationship and those oxytocin bonding chemicals are a deliberate part of that. What if the significant other is into water sports and you're not? Are you going to be fully satisfied in your sexual relationship? Don't they deserve to live out their fantasies rather than just talk about them? Second, It would be a HUGE red flag (thanks Whitney Cummings) to me if a woman held sex in exchange for marriage like that. I don't want my marriage to be a transaction I make in exchange for sex and if that is the best thing a woman feels like they have to offer me, then I'm out. I want to marry a woman because we both commit to the relationship we've been having, including sex. Even if the reason is that she would feel too attached to me if we have sex, then I'd feel like she is holding back to reserve the ability to be done with our relationship at any point. Either take the risk and go 100% into the relationship, risking heartbreak, or leave me alone. I think there is a 3rd option that Nikki and Dr. Pat are both missing. The guy that is okay with boundaries like no sex on the first night, but doesn't want to wait for marriage either. Men shouldn't be reduced, as Moshe was saying, to either sex-hungry dogs or decent humans who are willing to wait for after marriage to have sex. You do you Nikki, but know that you may miss out on some good guys who live in the middle of that spectrum because you're afraid to get hurt. Also...the part about men getting to know women by sniffing their vaginas... What was that?? I love this show lol!
this makes me feel like nikki is projecting her attachment issues around casual sex on every single female and is looking to whatever "experts" validate that. this was not it girl
It's actually so bizarre to me that Nikki insists it is this way and there is no other explanation. Just completely ignores all the women who don't get attached to every guy they bang.
Not the case at all. It was just awkward trying to do it over the phone because the woman is elderly at this point. All Nikki was looking for was confirmation that it's a mistake to sleep with someone first & then try to back into a relationship afterwards, and that's pretty much what the doctor was preaching.
@@steveknick1978 Yeah, but the context of the other stuff she was saying matters. Despite painting herself as a nerd, the woman seemed like she was pushing a mix a psuedo-science and archaic gender roles. She also straight up redefined monogamy/polygamy to suit her own agenda. Also I really can't get over her advocating "intercourse" with people you've been in a previous relationship in stead of someone new. It had a very "I believe this so it's science" feel to it. And all of her advice seems hetero-normative. How do you apply this stuff in LGBTQ relationships?
I have to say with everything on my plate n the sadness I’ve been feeling lately this show has been one of the only things making me smile n laugh and I can’t tell you how much I need n appreciate that right now 🙏🏼
This was the longest word salad that I've ever sat through. Lol. Nikki seemed to recognize that this woman made no sense most of the time, so why does she still swear by her principles? Lol.
I'm just tourist here but I think obvious, it's about the book .. and I think they'd already found out the author was a but crazy in person. .. but it supposedly she can write a coherent book. Shame for Nikki if it is a good book that this interview would definitely put people off.
Paying this lady for a therapy session must be like flushing money down the toilet. She barely listens and goes off on pointless tangents constantly. Sucks that the bit with Moshe was so short.
I LOVE that Nikki brought up the correlation between drug addiction and sex. My behaviors and feelings really do mimic those of when I'm using. I'm actually addressing this issue currently with my substance abuse treatment center. I say this all the time but Nicki really is so introspective and it's refreshing to feel represented. So thank you, Nikki, for being unapologetically you. ❤️
Also this is totally just my opinion and I could be entirely wrong but to me it sounded like the reason Moeshe and Natashas relationship ended up being so successful (despite the fact that they had slept with each other before being committed) was probably because they were friends and had a mutual respect for one another before they engaged in intercourse.
i get everything this lady is saying but ive gotten over the attachment problem after the 5th guy ive had sex with because im not a baboon and my character is not defined by my instincts. i wouldnt have made good partners for raising children with any of the guys ive had sex with, therefore im not hung up on them not being my partner. child rearing is not as simple as sex binding you together, it lasts an hour max dude!! this is hogwash!!
Sex without attachments are called one night stands. It is possible when neither person is wanting a relationship, but if one or both are looking for more they become attached. If you enter the sexual situation without an expectation of it being nothing more than sex, you won't become attached.
I like how Moshe has checked outta this conversation. I feel like this woman has a brilliant education and can dread good news. But I would have hung up after the 8th “I got news for you” 🙄🔫
Almost every guy I know has wanted a relationship after sex. She spends too much time thinking about stereotypes and not enough talking to real people.
Nicki, I'm with you. I've decided to not have sex with guys too soon because of a lot of what you're talking about. It's harder to walk away from a guy showing red flags if I'd already put myself out there and got emotionally attached.
I get the whole “why buy the cow if you can get the milk for free” argument, but at least finding out “if you and the cow mutually get along in the exchange” before you get too involved. Man or woman, ensuring compatibility applies to every part of seeking a long term relationship/marriage
I'm super feminine and also submissive, I like a dominant manly guy. But I don't necessarily feel more attached to guys I have sex with, it's usually the opposite, guys get more attached. I've also never been in love, though have had long term relationships (most was 9 years), supposedly I'm fearful/avoidant. I try to put off sex because I'm worried about the guys feelings, and my f buddy moved away, it's been a crappy couple of months.
lmao I'm addicted to this trainwreck of a person for some reason. this girl is straight up crazy and full of herself and mostly clueless about real life so it's always a wild ride. can't believe that author is the one she couldn't shut up about lol. somehow it makes perfect sense.
Love Nikki's show, but this was a very cringe episode, especially when that old lady started bringing God into it. The only episode I haven't liked so far. I guess you can't win 'em all.

Painful, Frustrating and Disempowering and Infuriating to hear this conversation. Women should date a group of men and take the sexual pace that feels good to them not to men for real (obviously understanding and taking into account how women and sex view differently) Women should come from the position of choosing the best partner for them and not settle for a guy just because he gives her any kind of commitment. This Therapist woman is insane and delusional and a narcissist for sure. As long as a man bonds emotionally and intelectually with you first and then sexually a man will become your boyfriend. Women should just understand that men need to bond in other ways first.

Older people talking on the phone gives me anxiety
She's really loud and preachy.
my parents answer their phones and immediately put it on speaker phone, so if you're in the room, you're automatically included in the call.
I discovered something new about myself just now. Thanks Chase.
And they say we have problems talking on the phone 😂
Take a benzo
Why pay $250/hour to have some angry old lady yell at me about what I'm doing wrong in my love life, when I can get my mom to do it for free?
This ^
The people who didn't have responsible parents pay her for it!

Bless you, friend
Thank you that was getting rough

Moshe Kasher once again being the biggest feminist in the room. love that guy
nikki needs..help to say the least
Ew thats not a good thing
@Corpsefoot Gaming not even close
For a therapist, this woman is pretty bad at listening - and communicating in general. She sounds like a text book narcissist.

She also sounds like a total SWERF. I can't stand her

@@JelenK She needs to drop this one, too. But I have a feeling she was as appalled by this conversation as everyone else, so it should be fine.
Jim Button I agree based on Nikki’s face I think we can all agree she’s too old to be talking anymore
On another episode they said this lady is 84 years old so I guess that would explain a lot of things.
Nikki: Says anything
Dr. Pat Allen ”I’VE GOT NEWS FOR YOU”
lmao
this made my day
Literally Rofl'd thanks
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
INTERCOURSE!!!
I just upvoted this video because of Moshe bringing some sense into that crazy discussion.
